The building comes alive when the finest musicians and the best singers in the Ark-la-Tex area. Come together for 2 hours of Hand Clappin- Toe Snappin’-- Finger Lickin.. Country Pickin. each show pays tribute to a legand in the buisness who helped pave the way for us to have good country music today. Also each show features an up and coming talent from this area. Every show has a Gospel portion, a Comedy portion and a portion of just good old Country Music, on the same stage that onced hosted the "Louisiana Hayride" where many country music stars started thier careers. Stars like, HANK WILLIAMS, JIM REEVES, FARON YOUNG,JOHNNY HORTON, CLAUDE KING,SLIM WHITMAN, WILLIE NELSON, NAT STUCKY, ELVIS PRESLEY and so many more. The show is hosted by Bud Christian, a local musician who traveled 20 years on the road with many country music stars, in the 70’s & - 80’s he stopped touring and opened two successful night clubs in Bossier City, the Brass Rail & Tequila Willies. After 10 years in the club buisness he returned to touring the circuit working New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, & Texas. He has worked the Colgate State & regional finals where he played behind the contestants who went into the finals in Nashville Tenn. Currently he works at a shreveport music store and works with the friends of the Municipal Auditorium, and the Shreveport Sound Syndicate, ( a local group of musicians, songwriters, publishers, entertainers, studio, radio stations, booking agents, advertising, technical advisors & sound & light men, who believe in Shreveport, and had made it thier main goal to promote the music industry in this town, using local people and local buisnesses.) As Bud likes to say---- YOU GOTTA DANCE WITH WHO BRUNG YOU.’ Bud also is active on stage as he plays with country bands Hystrung,’ (country swing band) and Homemade Jam Band( playing country standards and top 40 country), And still travels with the Penny Gilley Show’ (playing classic country & rock standards), You can also find him working at Lee’s Club, One Eyed Jacks Restaurant, The Homer Hayride, where he charms the crowd with his smoothe voice, his impersonations, his funny antics, and there’s no telling who might be with him on stage that night. His friends show up from all over the USA to just sit in an sing or play, or just tell funny stories with him. Bud currently lives in Benton Louisiana with his Wife Carol, and Princess ( she’s the poodle), & Baxter" ( he’s the cat.) But he still finds time to help the young Artist develop thier skills on stage & improve thier show, So when the time comes they will be ready to step up to the microphone, and shine like the stars. HE IS A TIRELESS WORKER, BUT ALWAYS FINDS THE TIME TO HELP OUT HIS FELLOW MUSICIANS, TO WORK ON THIER PROJECTS, AND TO HELP YOUNG SINGERS GET THIER START AND DEVELOP THIER CAREERS.
BUD WAS BORN MAY 9TH 1949 IN SHREVEPORT LOUISIANA. HE GREW UP NEAR ARCADIA, LOUISIANA AND GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL AT ARCADIA HIGH IN 1966.
HE KNEW AT AN EARLY AGE HE WAS DESTINED TO BE AN ENTERTAINER & GROWING UP BACKSTAGE AT THE LOUISIANA HAYRIDE PROVED TO BE GOOD TRAINING GROUND FOR HIM. HE STARTED PERFORMING ON STAGE & RADIO SHOWS AT THE AGE OF 5 IN THE COMPANY OF ARTIST BOB LUMAN, MERLE KILGORE, JIM REEVES, RED SURVINE, WEBB PIERCE, AND LEGENDARY GUITARIST JAMES BURTON.
"EVEN AS A CHILD, IT WAS EVEDIENT THAT HE ENJOYED BEING A CLOWN, ALWAYS DOING CRAZY & FUNNY SKITS UNREHEARSHED & SPONTANEOUSLY ON STAGE. "HIS PARENTS REMARKED, "HE KEPT US IN STITCHES AND ON OUR TOES."AFTER GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL, LIFE TRIED TO CHOOSE ANOTHER ROAD FOR BUD. HE SPENT 10 YEARS IN THE RETAIL FOOD INDUSTRY. AT THE AGE OF 27, HE LEFT THE COMFORT & SECURITY OF HIS MANAGEMENT POSITION TO DEVOTE HIMSELF ENTIRELY TO THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. BUD SAYS’ I AM AT EASE AND MOST COMFORTABLE WHEN I AM ON STAGE. BUBBA IS SAID TO BE OUTSTANDING IN HIS FIELD, INCEDENTLY THAT’S WHERE THEY DISCOVERED HIM...... OUT STANDING IN HIS FIELD.
