About Me

Chance and the BluesDaddies are a 3-piece Rockin' Blues Band that can melt the coldest heart with blues music cooked on a grill with rocket fuel. They Play original rockin' blues songs and have been described as "John Lee Hooker on steroids". They also do their own versions of songs written by John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Bo Diddley, Big Joe Williams, Jimi Hendrix... Chance Gardner's voice has been described as "gravel in a silk bag" and on guitar "it sounds like three guitars!". Band Members: The Band:Chance Gardner - Guitar and Vocals:Raised in the Great American South, Chance learned the blues from 'Earring' George Mayweather (JB Hutto) and his brother Silas Hubbard, Jr. from Mississippi and Chris 'Stovall' Brown, Sax Gordon and Eric 'Two Scoops' Moore in Boston.and also influenced by singer-songwriters like John Prine, Paul Simon and Stephen Stills.Patrick McDonald - Bass: Raised in South Texas, Patrick's early bands included playing with the Vaughan Brothers, Billy Gibbons (pre ZZ Top), Mike Knuse (Fever Tree) in Houston's "La Maison". Recorded with Lightnin' Hopkins when he was a young'un ("played the bass all day for twenty bucks! I didn't know no better"). Toured on bass with The Steve Miller Band,Todd Rundgren and Billy Joel to name a few..Bernie Mansell - Drums: The girl from Texa's energy and big, big heart is the driving force behind Chance and the BluesDaddies.Steve Sargenti - Harmonica, Banjo, Mandolin. Dave Hissey - Keyboards, Hammond B-3, Accordion.
Influences: 'Earring' George Mayweather (when he was in JB Hutto's band he was the first harmonica recorded through an amp on record) gave me a lot of home truths about what it is to be a Bluesman. His brother Silas Hubbard Jr. took me under his wing. Chris 'Stovall' Brown taught me showmanship and style. Luther 'Guitar Jr' Johnson - although I never played on stage with him we had some great conversations. Paul Simon who told me the secret was "never give up". Bo Diddley who told me "Gimme that little blond girl", Van Morrison ...
Sounds Like: His voice is like "gravel in a silk bag" and the guitar "It sounds like three guitars!!!". Also has been described as "John Lee Hooker on Steroids".
