In star wars episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, of the Jedi set 22 years after the fall, to seek Yoda's guidance after being told to by the force ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi Luke Skywalker arrives on Dagobah. After initial reluctance, to teach Luke in the ways of the force Yoda agrees. To finishing his training prior, however, to leave Dagobah in order to confront Darth Vader and save his friends from the empire's grasp at Bespin Luke chooses. Yoda insists to luke that, being lured into a trap, is he, and stay to complete his training, that he must. However, forsake his friends in danger Luke cannot. In Return of the Jedi, Yoda's final chronological appearance is, set a year later.
