Charly Roussel Band

Born in paris 1982. grew up in a commune in austria. at the peek about 650 memebers. 1990 the commune broke up. i lived in burgenland at friedrichshof and went to the vienna international school. in the age of ten i started playing guitar my favorites were jimi hendricks, bob dylan, beateles ( the typical tunes get girls around a nice fire in sumer nights) 1999 i moved to portugal where the commune restarted in a more familiar size of 25 people. the 9 youngsters founded a jazz band in 2000. our name is "art life sahara baby jazz band". check out the web site www.babyjazz.com. theres a tune of mine on it, "when mama calls." in 2001 we were lucky to have the great bass player and jazz educator ze eduardo as our teacher for about 4 years. tricotism and allone togehter have been recorded at the sudio gremio das musicas. thanks alot ze. We have been playing arond the algarve and Lisbon. We had tours in germany and austria. since 2007 iam a student at the conservatory van amsterdam, studying, playing, rehersing, practicing, giging, biking, eating on the stairs of oosterdokseiland, doin it, sleeping, dancin to wicked jazz sounds, writin, drwawin, reflecting, dreaming, jazzing, bouncing, jiving, drinking belgium bear, kissing in vondel park only, bassing ma way to artistic freedom.
