Frans van der Hoeven

Frans van der Hoeven grew up with music from Jimi hendrix, the Beatles, Wheather Report, the Beachboys, Miles Davis..... Learned from playing and recording with musicians like Tom harrel, Woody Shaw, Jack deJohnette, Bill Stewart,Clark Terry, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Charlie Mariano, Art Farmer and many others. His particular style of bassplaying can be heard on more than 75 albums . Today van der Hoeven is a playing with Jesse van Ruller, Bert Joris, Red Yellow and Blue, Eef Albers, Tineke Postma, Jeroen van Vliet and many more. He is a leader in several projects. In 1996 he started his soloproject Drum 'n Double Bass and recorded his first soloalbum " First Flight " . On this disc he plays all instruments.
