THE MURKIONS
It all started way way back in the hazy days of 2001, Macky Fritz and Ringo, [rest in peace mate] were three pals who had all been in bands in the early days of psychobilly and were all at loose ends at the same time, we talked and decided to get a band going, we called ourselves the murkins and we played standard three piece psychobilly belting out classics like "harry botter and the wizards cock", "stinkerbell", & "I cant read and im covered in poo" to name but a few, Ringo on double bass, Fritz on guitar and macky on drums,, we never had a singer. Anyway this line up was ok cause we were all good mates but we never gelled as a band and it fittered out after ringo took his own life.
A year or so passes and we decide to give it another blast with a mutual friend called Vince, This was a good set up but we couldnt really discipline ourselves and practices were more like insanity binges with lots of everything flying around which was good crack like but no good for the band,, at about this time we met a girl called Celia who was great, she had some of her own songs and everything was going well, ,,, and then everyone moved house, changed jobs, and just seemed to lose touch,, (if you see this celia give us a shout :-) Anyway that was that !!
A couple more years pass , Fritz and Macky, after drinking stupidly and listening to demented are go & boney M almost endlessly one very messy evening started writing a couple of tunes & got in touch with their long time pal Scotty Afro, Scotty was just what we needed on drums and we all thought it was cool from the start, shortly after Scotty asked his friend Anni to meet us and see if she wanted to be in the band, we all gelled immediatly and had a cracking first jam, Anni writing songs on the fly and pretty much making the whole thing sound complete.
We had been together as a band for about six weeks or something, when Scottys other band at the time, Jackie O were playing a gig with Black fiction and invited us to do a small set, we did,, ha ha,, we fucked it up too, but it was great fun and cemented the feeling that we could make some spot on music together. So we got together and recorded the four songs for myspace at BaseHQ Newcastle, big thanks to Mick and Rich for helping us out and making us sound like us, sweet job boys,
So that just about brings us up to date, Macky Parkfondle, Fritz Mong, Scotty Skinhead, Anni3 and Codename Kev (top secret member) are writing at the moment and hopefully should have a bunch of new filthy tunes to wriggle around your dirty lug hole in the very near future, Providing Doctor mong doesnt go and snap his fuckin legs of !!Spew n HugsThe murkions
