"On Strong Medicine, Athens, Ga.'s Southern Bitch cranks the volume 1 louder, all the way to 11, opening up an extra-strength pill bottle of '70s-stadium-riff whoop ass that'll jump-start your flat-lined rock 'n' roll heart." - Steve LaBate, associate editor, Paste
Athens, GA based Southern Bitch prepare to unleash their powerful dose of guitar-heavy, back-to-basics rock record Strong Medicine on November 14th. The new release produced by David Barbe (DBT) and Adam Musick is the follow up to the critically acclaimed, politically charged Snake in the Grass. The new record continues to showcase both Adam Musick’s songwriting and the guitar powerhouse team made up by Musick and his wife Wendy. Chuck Bradburn (bass) keeps the sonic foundation in check and is joined by newest member Taylor Sproull on drums.
Strong Medicine speaks to the hardship, sacrifice, and rewards of picking up a guitar, starting a band and living on the road. The band has spent a good portion of the last year on the road headlining their own shows and supporting the likes of Will Hoge, Shooter Jennings, and Lucero. Southern Bitch continues to draw comparisons to the Stones, Skynyrd, Tom Petty, and Neil Young but is quite happy with those associations. The band has taken those infuences and life experiences to meld their own brand of Southern Rock.Southern Bitch will hit the road later this year to continue to live out the rock ‘n roll dream. Look for them at your favorite rock venue.
