Fernanda Porto is a Brazilian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. The repercussion on the dance floors worldwide with the music "Sambassim", remixed by the DJ Patife, was so strong that her name remained associated with drum and bass. This was a distinct rhythm in her first CD, entitled "Fernanda Porto", with which she conquered several prizes and was nominated for the Latin Grammy award as newcomer artist. The duet with Chico Buarque in the music "Roda Viva" of the second CD "Giramundo", announced an opening to a more varied sound, in which the drum and bass are not excluded. But the commitment with the rhythmic versatility of Brazilian sounds, and naturally of the world, becomes evident in her third CD and DVD, "Fernanda Porto ao Vivo", launched last year. A talented student of the well-known musician/teacher H.J. Koellreutter, she composed several sound tracks for movies, including "Cabra Cega" by Toni Venturi. Fernanda brings celebrated hits such as "Só Tinha de Ser com Você" (the electronic version that attracted young people to Tom Jobim), compositions of hers as "De Costas para o Mundo, and with partners, such as "Tudo de Bom" and "Giramundo (lyrics by Lina de Albuquerque), "Amor Errado" (lyric by Edu Ruiz), and recently, the version of "Samba a Dois", by Los Hermanos. With a voice both cool and crystal clear, today Fernanda goes from electronic to acoustic, from samba to nud-jazz, from bossa nova to pop, but without ever losing the eternal experimental soul.
Talentosa aluna do mestre H.J.
