The notable and up and coming Emcee from Sao Paulo, Brazil, known to the wider area as Jay P, began his artistic career in music in 2005, and since has taken the Brazilian Hip Hop culture by storm. Infusing his music with modern-day relevant messages about discrimination, love, drugs, reckless abandonment, and friendships, while merging these with transcendental themes such as war and the Amazonia, Jay P has gained international notoriety.
Acclaimed for his music which both vibes positivity and alternates between English and Portuguese rhymes, this artist breaks new ground as he goes beyond the traditional rhythm and scheme of Hip Hop, parlaying his music into global territory. Jay P reveals Hip Hop beyond what's promoted on the club circuit, introducing new sounds and techniques.
A former member of project "Incentivo Hip Hop" and "Afrika Kidz Crew", Jay P extends the music of Hip Hop to solidify the musical genre-turned-culture into more than just a phenomenon or movement, but a way of life. Bringing the central elements of Hip Hop to all of Brazil, through touring, shows, and parties complete with the requisite freestyle battles and ciphers, Jay P also makes his debuts on the radio, Music Tv shows and in clubs with his latest track "Adivinha Quem".
The will to help and to reveal new talents for contribution to the culture growing, Jay P, started the "67 Canarinho" a studio that produce a lot of young artists around Brazil rising into the Hip Hop, also create the "Casa Das Batidas" that beyond making beats, release a mixtape every month with new beats, in colaboration with Edaum(3 Pilares/Reis Da Praça/Cerberus) and Bitrinho(Variuz/Esquadrão Maloka/Afrika Kidz Crew).
His collaborations and musical releases within Europe have ignited an outpour of media promotion, including a legion of Brazilian Hip Hop websites featuring groups such as Bocada Forte, Rap Nacional, Hip Hop de Fato, Rapevolusom, Enraizados, Blog Suburbano Convicto, Illusions, and more. With mixtapes released in the U.S., France, and Brazil, a guest appearance on the show "Bastidores," promoting his album "Mesclando Rimas" (2007), and 2nd place out of 70 emcees in the Allhiphop.com "Sean Price Rhyme Contest," Jay P is without a doubt blazing a trail within the Brazilian Hip Hop scene. Unlike other emcees, Jay P focus his rhymes abilities to put Brazil on the international map, and to open doors for the raw, underground talent thriving in Brazil.
