Books are like imprisoned souls, till someone takes them down from a shelf and frees them. ~Samuel B

About Me

Books ~
They will visit you at your convenience, whether you are lonesome or not, on rainy days or fair. They propose themselves as either transient acquaintances or permanent friends. They will stay as long as you like, departing or returning as you wish. Their friendship entails no obligation. Best of all, and not always true of our merely human friends, they have Cleopatra’s infinite variety.
~ Clifton Fadiman
Barnes & Noble Sugarhouse Store opened it's doors
11/11/1998
It is one of the larger Barnes & Noble's here in Utah. Two stories high enabled us to have the "extras". Upstairs we have a large Music and DVD section, a store within a store. Downstairs we have a decently sized Barnes & Noble cafe, with many tables and chairs to accomodate our Customers. We also have enough space for a good sized Gift Department, featuring Journals (B & N has one of the largest selections for retail stores), Artists supplies, Home Office accessories, cards, Bookends, Moleskines.
And of course, hundreds of thousands of Books.
Barnes & Noble Sugarhouse
Barnes & Noble's beginnings can be traced to 1873, when Charles M. Barnes started a book business from his home in Wheaton, Illinois. In 1917, his son, William, went to New York to join G. Clifford Noble in establishing Barnes & Noble. During the height of the Great Depression, what later became the Barnes & Noble flagship store was opened on Fifth Avenue at 18th Street in New York City, where it still resides today.
