I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

If you are looking for the Raleigh, NC band, Love Newton, they are at myspace.com/lovenewton
"Reach for the stars. Even if you fail, you will have climbed to a great height." -- Newton Love Sr (my dad)
I am a scientist (Technical Fellow), published author (mysteries and thrillers), published symphonic composer, painter, ceramicist, sculptor, and about two degrees of freedom from normal. I have packed at least three lifetimes into the one I now am living. Most people who hear my life story tell me "Bullshit! Nobody can have done all that!" It's all true, except the culturally required embellishments. Read my bio at my author & composer web site .
I've lived all over the USA, and travelled widely abroad. I was born in Dallas Methodist Hospital, but grew up in southern California. You are 91% REAL Texan!!

High five, you're a complete Texan.
Live Large, Pardner!

How Texan are you?
I now live in the Eastport District of Annapolis, Maryland -- we're called Eastportoricans by the locals -- with my mentor/partner/wife Nance, a very talented multi-media artist.

Here's some reality! The truth from a Lakhota forced into nDn boarding school as a kid, and how he was brainwashed into feeling ashamed that he is nDn. Imagine if somebody tried to do that to any other ethnic group in the US. Everyone would condemn it!

My Interests

Everything. Seriously! Help me find an exception.

I'd like to meet:

You, readers, authors, musicians, painters, poets, artists, actors, nDns (American Indians) especially Lakhota, Nakhota, and Dakhota, fellow Marines, anyone in or out of uniform, misfits of science (like me), people who knew me in a past life, including previous episodes of this one, stranger than fictions, and all the folks I miss from my home planet.

Music:

I compose music, from symphonic (I sold a cantata to the Annapolis Chorale, and am working on 2 operas) to blues, rock-n-roll, and some country-n-western

Movies:

Casablanca, Babylon 5, Princess Bride, Brazil, Time Bandits, Dead on Arrival (Edmund O'Brien - 1950), Ghost Busters, Tombstone, Silverado, Treasure of the Sierra Madre

Television:

I watch some, but not much. I am friends with the Tech Adviser to the first 3 seasons of NCIS. I watch NCIS, CSIs, and most of the Law-n-Orders.

Books:

I write mysteries and thrillers, and read them, but also read SF and Fantasy, histories, politics, religion, philosophy, and of course, science and tech. I have written several tech papers, too.

Heroes:

My dad, my partner/mentor Nancy Love, Sitting Bull, Leaping Bull, Russell Means, John Truedell, Leonard Peltier, Kinky Friedman, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, Alexandria (Sherri) Szeman, Rick Rosensteel, Scott Mcnealy, Matt and Sam Pekinpah, Delphine Cingal

thought for the day, week, year, life

We should never take for granted, that which is free. Often it is more valuable than anything that can be bought. Think about it, and you will likely agree.
