About Me

I'm the author of 4 detective novels in the Hannibal Jones series - Blood and Bone, Collateral Damage, The Troubleshooter, and Damaged Goods, plus two action adventure novels, The Payback Assignment and The Orion Assignment. I'm active in several local writers organizations and I'm the current president of the Maryland Writers Association. I teach writing courses at Anne Arundel Community College. By day I'm a public affairs specialist for the Defense Department. For more than a decade the American Forces Network carried my radio and television news reports.

I'd like to meet:

Shemar Moore

The perfect actor to play Hannibal Jones! I'd also like to meet YOU... at one of the events on my calendar below. But first, pause the music and allow me to introduce myself.

Music:

Music to my ears - About my novels, like THE TROUBLESHOOTER:

"Favorite Hannibal Jones - So Far

I loved this Hannibal Jones story. If Austin Camacho ever decides to give up writing, he should set up his easel. The descriptions of the people and places are amazingly vivid."

Carol O'Rourke

Movies:

MY BOOKS should be movies... starring Shemar Moore! In THE TROUBLESHOOTER - The prequel to Blood and Bone, Hannibal Jones is hired to free a Washington crack house from the drug addicts and winos that hold it. A powerful drug lord nearly drives him off, until he realizes that his success or failure will determine the fate of a neighborhood, and the future of one small boy..

Television:

The Shield, Burn Notice, Jekyll, Alias, 24, Prison Break, and, of course, Criminal Minds starring Shemar Moore.

Books:

I love anything by David Morrell, Elmore Leonard, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Ross MacDonald, John D. McDonald, Libby Fischer Hellmann, Bill Pronzini, James Ellroy, Paula Woods, Harlan Coben, James Patterson, Laura Lippman and, of course, Ken Bruen!

Heroes:

Bruce Wayne, James Bond, Tarzan, Doc Savage, Travis McGee, Lew Archer, Simon Templar
