Sounds Like: "Gyppos were delightfully ragged, foregoing microphones and wandering beautifully through the tune avenue kicking up a dishevelled fuss. I liked their vibe." Sandman"A lively animated band with energetic guitar rhythms and lapsidasical lyrics. Never have I seen a guitarist with such an infectuous grin on his face. It didnt matter they forgot their lyrics halfway through, they definately had presence and stirred the crowd from their trance like stupor." Sandman"I must mention GYPPOS as they are kind humans with a spirit of adventurism" Maxim Peter Griffin"Their songs veer from experimental noise to nursery rhyme reggae touching on jazzy blues and punk-fuelled shout-a-longs on the way. At times they seem purposefully obscure, but manage to stay on the right side of novelty. The upbeat reggae, trumpet and laidback nursery rhyme/ anthemic lyrics of ‘Wee Blind Mice’ are all instantly catchy and inspire skanking at the front; seemingly the polar opposite of merriment ‘Merry Christmas’, an ode to The Pogues presumably, bemoans the corruption and squalor of a distinctly un-merry Christmas complete with the ‘reaper’s knocking’ at the door, fortunately the rest of the set is aimed at lifting the spirits rather than encouraging misery in mock-Cockney accents. The Gyppos melting pot of styles and unbounded enthusiasm goes down a storm." Sandman"Gyppos "Merry Christmas" is my favourite - gloomy, maudlin and depressing and sounds like a song from an updated version of Oliver Twist meets A Christmas Carol - yay have this one on and the reindeer will be presenting themselves at the slice 'n' dice venison shop. "The reaper is knocking at the front door" is a nice twist from Santa down the chimney - excellent!" Thee SPC Festive Download Review
