The story of The Livin’ Kitchen
began sometime around the end of 2001 when Johan Ullman and Fredrik Pihl met in High School. After a while of trying to learn their respective instruments they started the band The Decadants. In the years that followed this band contained more members than what can be counted with two hands. About two years later the band was down to a trio together with the bassist Calle Thorell. One night the boys decided it was time for a change of name. After not much thought The Livin’ Kitchen was decided and about a month later the band recorded their first demo called “Runnin’ on Fumes”.Sometimes short after this Calle jumped the ship and on came Marcus Hedman too replace him. Marcus was an old childhood friend of Fredriks and in the follow years this trio would play around town together with an ongoing amount of other people coming and going through the band. Sometime in between all these member changes the band recorded their second demo-cd called “For All the Right Reasons”. 100 copies was printed and proudly scattered through out the country. Then in the fall of 2005 Marcus began to study studio engineering where he met another fellow of the name Andreas Remmegård. Ex-drummer of Streetfight Fighters Andreas eventually ended up in the organ-seat and there he remains. In the beginning of 2006 the band signed a record-deal with CG Recordings and recorded what was to become the EP Indulge, released a year later. At the end of the year the band finally found a new guitarist. His name was Alfred Mattson with which the bands recorded some songs under the name “Palm of your hands”.In may of 2007 the towels was thrown in and the Livin' Kitchen was no more.
