Hi all, Just another way of killing time on my PC...what can I say, uummmm, married for the second time around to Jim since 1988. I have four great kids, Debbie, Alexander, Jason, Robert and a Daughter in Law Cindy,whom have grown up and are very successful and very much their own people. They are everything I could have wished them to be really, confident, worldly, healthy,and most of the time happy but unfortunately We all have to take knocks at some point in our life in order to grow.Please God they get by with as few as possible..

I have 2 wonderful Grandchildren, (Alexander..31/2, and Layla 16) hopefully in years to come I will add to that number. I also have 3 Stepdaughters and the 4 Grandchildren from Jims side of the family. I have lived in my present town for 35 years in August so I suppose I have definately started to grow roots and will probably end my days here. I spend a lot of my time going up to our field where We keep 9 ponies, five of which are ours.Four Welsh Sec A and one Strawberry Roan Pony We have no idea on the breeding but is stunning.We started a breeding program and bred three foals but We kind of drifted away from that for various reasons, mainly due to illness. We borrow other peoples kids on occasions as its fun teaching them to ride.Its very hard to get riders in this day and age, the computers and Xboxes seem to have taken over from such a young age. The kids today dont seem as tough as we were when we were young. I remember I used to walk miles to the nearest stables to muck out etc just to earn a five minute ride while the pony was taken back to its paddock. I have, after 11 years of owning our ponies started to drive one. Jim has owned horses all his life and has always driven. He has broken six on the field into harness, three of which are ours. I love the four seasons, the Summer.... for obvious reasons,warmth, freedom, sharing. The Autumn... for colour, preparation for the Winter and winding down. The Winter.. for crispness and everywhere looking untouched and the Spring for the new beginnings and the looking forward. In our field where We keep our ponies we collect the Blackberries in the Summer for pies and jam. In the Autumn.... the Sloes for the sloe gin
Cool SlideshowsThe squirrels collect the Beech Nuts, Acorns and Hazel Nuts. The Winter... I collect the Holly,Ivy and anything else I can find for Christmas decoration. The Spring... we have new growth of the field and all the wild flowers, trees and shrubs that bloom through the summer months. We have Deer, Rabbits, squirrels, and Foxes that visit on a regular basis. So many birds I cant even start to name them.I am trying to give you some idea in the photographs as to some of the visitors we receive.The field is a great place to be whatever the time of year. Whisper and Willow "Gipsy gold does not chink and glitter.It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark". Every Year the Gypsies run their Horse Fairs all across the UK. These are usually big colourful events where they buy and sell horses amongst their own community as well as the general public and have where you can find anything from a set of harness to a canary for sale. There are market stalls selling China, Clothing, Tack, Tools, Gold and many other things that you wouldnt always find at a normal market.One of the biggest Fairs is Appleby, in Cumbria and people come from all over the world to see the beautifully turned out Gypsy horses. These pictures give you an idea of whats to be seen at Appleby.
