I am a producer, programmer and a DJ. I work primarily on hardware and am currently experimenting with a live recording approach, where only the final stereo channel is recorded, requiring the mix to be ready as it leaves the mixing desk.
I have been working on digital music for around 3 years but have only recently had the resourses and time to work consistently on my own output.
My influences which range from the rolling basses of breaks and drum and bass to hard flat fours of house, combine in my tracks resulting in a dark house sound.
I am also interested in the ability to perform my output, hence all of the mixes here were recorded in a single take with all manipulation and sequencing actioned live.
The main reason I find I am working in live sessions is so that I know I am capable of recreating my tracks from scratch, straight from the sources. It also keeps the sequenced versions of the tracks a surprise!
Much of the structure with my tracks is derived from what I would like to hear dynamically when DJing, this inevitably leads to a lot of long enveloping, breakdowns and areas more workable for a good mix.
