About Me


We host a variety of exhibitons, live-art events, artist training sessions, community workshops and endeavour to promote and network artist information on a local and national basis.
Current Exhibition:
'M a s t e r S h i f t e r' an exciting new exhibition of artwork based on the artist collective’s research into the historical traditions of Durham, with a focus on the surrounding social, ceremonial and artistic vestiges of its industrial heritage.
The exhibition includes work which takes inspiration from mining banners, the Durham Miners’ Gala and mining machines and offers a contemporary take on the legacy of Durham as a centre for the coal mining industry.
'Toetap'
Sat 19th Jan- Fri 22nd Feb (PREVIEW Friday 18th Jan).
An exhibition demonstrating dance as a movement, a cabaret, a performance and simple as an art form. There will be a series of dance classes running alongside the exhibition, encompassing everything from tap dance to techo rave.

The static exhibition will be in the Gallery.
Performances events will either be in the Gallery or other specified venues.

Sunday 28th October, 8pm @ the Cumberland Arms. Glue Group will be exhibiting some of their own artwork for one night only for a 'banoffee pie' event.
'PUBLISH!' 15th Sept - 14th OctPreview 14th Sept 6-8pm featuring book sculpture from Yvette Hawkins and Cheryl Field, comics and zines by Gary Bainbridge, prints by Rachel Bollen, and readings from a variety of local writers and poets, go 'hands on' with a series of lively workshops open to all. Book early.
GRAFF : GRAPH Preview Wednesday 24th October. 25th oct - 4th nov.
'I HEART HEATON' - an all-inclusive exhibition reflecting the rich, varied and exciting visual tinkerings of a thriving community. Displaying work resulting from local advertising encouraging residents of Heaton to exhibit their work for free, I HEART HEATON provides an insight into local creativity.
'Residencies', a series of art explorations using Gallery Glue as a studio space.
'Shop' - an installation which takes on the form of a 1930s style shop. Furnishings are used to display work in an alternative fashion. Visitors to the gallery are encouraged to thoroughly peruse the exhibition: look through a draw of objects, take a card from a stand, feel the texture of an object, discover and interact with the exhibition wherever possible.
'Analogue-9' - an exhibition of Gallery Glue Group members' own work. Showing the wide range of interests and techniques used by the members.

MUSICAL STORYTELLING NIGHT
An evening of delightful and chaotic storytelling. Featuring renowned poet and sound artist ELLEN PHETHEAN, reading from her prize-winning crossover novel, 'Wall', a collaborative performance by KATHERINE FARRIMOND and songstress BRIDIE JACKSON, and the unpredictable pandemonium that is THE LOUIS SEYMOUR EXSTORYMENTAL PERITELLING PROJECT (Mark Pembrey, Edwin Li and Tom Furness).
