Frostskadet

Cold, raw, atmospheric black metal

About Me

'Frostskadet' means 'frostbitten' in Norwegian, and is pronounced frost-scar-det. NEWS--------------------------------------------- I'm currently working on writing and recording for the first album. I'm hoping to have a demo ready later this year or early next year. Progress is fairly slow because of homework. --------------------------------------------- 24/8/07 The new logo has arrived! It was created by Vandenis and jointly designed by both of us. The banner below will take you to Vandenis' website, or you can check out his myspace at www.myspace.com/vandenis.----------------------------------- ---------- 3/8/07 The newest Frostskadet song, 'Black Rain', has been uploaded, with lyrics this time. Again, please excuse the awful quality that must be used on myspace. It always suprises me just how badly the myspace music player can mutilate a track. --------------------------------------------- 9/7/07 As you can see, the first Frostskadet song, 'Agony', has been posted. The weird sounding instrument is actually a violin, in case you were wondering. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the myspace music player, it is a very low quality file, and seeing as the CD has not yet been released there is no other way of hearing a better quality version. Please feel free to comment on it. Enjoy! BANNERS

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Tim

All instruments, vocals, composing and lyrics
Influences: I listen to a wide range of black metal, and a bit of doom metal, but the bands that inspire me most are the nature influenced ones: Drudkh Ulver (early) Negura Bunget Opeth Moonsorrow In the Woods... Forest of ShadowsAlso, the band Shakti has been an influence to my violin and guitar playing, although it may be hard to tell.
Sounds Like: Frostskadet plays raw black metal with acoustic instruments, such as the violin and the acoustic guitar. These acoustic instruments give an atmospheric, cold, and sometimes haunting, tone to the music.Frostskadet's sound could be described as a mix of Drudkh, for their long, atmospheric passages, and early Ulver, especially Nattens Madrigal.Frostskadet's sound has been described by fans as: 'grim and oppressive' 'individual' 'really, really intense and obscure' 'haunting' 'misanthropic' 'brutal'
