Band Members: Born in former Czechoslovakia, Gitta grows up in Switzerland after her parents had left their home country to escape the Russian invasion in Summer ’68. She lives in Zurich where she goes to school, where she learns to play piano and where she enters a student’s theatre group.After finishing high school Gitta moves to Montpellier in Southern France where she studies Philosophy for one year. She continues her studies in Southern Germany, and graduates in Contemporary History. After that, she trains in Aromatherapy at the London School of Aromatherapy, becomes Health Practitioner in Paris and after giving birth to her son Jacob trains in Infant massage at the Queen Charlotte’s Hospital in London. She completes her studies with a Shiatsu diploma from the International School of Shiatsu. Besides her studies, she works but everything seems to be interesting to her: She teaches stress release to young artists at the Pop Academy in Waimes, participates and animates different writing workshops, and works for the UNESCO division “Cultural identities†in Paris. She becomes interpreter, journalist, opens her own Health Practice and organises different workshops on natural healing and stress release. She becomes responsible for communication within an international lobby organisation in Brussels and finally meets the love of her life Phil Vangaard, with whom she decides to create in June 2006 MUSIC WORKS.Together, Gitta and Phil start to develop a music school, giving young musicians the possibility to train with real performing artists, to record their music in their professional recording studio and to perform on different stages. They also decide to give a helping hand to artists who record at Music Works Studios and from this initiative soon emerges the idea to create a management agency.
Their first success is huge: In January 2007 Gitta and Phil fly to Cannes together with the Jazz band Magalon-Hermans-Mercier who perform an official show case at Midem. Midem is also the occasion to present the debut album of the Belgian Rock band Lone who finds a lot of amateurs among the international public.
Influences: My father used to sing Don Giovanni at home, but later on I discovered Bob Dylan and Carlos Santana (who still is one of my heroes). I loved the concert of Queen in Zurich and I painted my face like Kiss whilst my first boyfriend tried to play the guitare like Jimi Hendrix. I sang Brothers in Arms from Dire Straits and I listened to Deep Purple, Krokus (you know that Swiss Metal band???) and Lucio Dalla. When I came home late night I often felt like that girl in the song of Edoardo Bennato and I got crazy when hearing Juke Box Hero. I also saw Renaud in a private military party in Germany (oh yeas and it was great!) and I very much loved Francis Lalane. I was crying when Coluch died in that stupid accident (I know he was not a musician but anyway he very much influenced French music) and I still love The Stones. Oh yeah I remember that great concert in Paris! Anyway I certainly also was influenced by Count Basie (my mom took me to a concert when I was a little girl), Pink Floyd, The Doors, Chopin, Bach and Schostakovitch, whom I listend sunday morning in my flat in Paris.
What great souvenirs when naming all these heroes... but stop thinking of the past!!!! We are here to help new heroes to become your stars!
