Desecration Arizona H.C. back from the Grave

About Me

Some of the shows the band played during the 1984 - 1988 period...This seems pretty much forgotten these days. The 7" released in 1987 with the same title (ltd. to 1 000 with free live flexi) seems to pop up often enough but the 12" out in 1986, which is a different record altogether, has just about disappeared. It's a shame because this is certainly worth having. That 12" was their first release ever, limited to 500 copies. For sheer power the only band that comes close for the time is Infest. Like the Infest 12" this is a powerful and well produced record. This is what Pushead had to say about it in Thrasher Magazine, "Hailing from Mesa, Arizona, Desecration races quickly toward havoc with a speed surge that is raw and vocal and turbulently rushing at a split-second pace, calming only for breaks between songs. In the tradition of the hardcore band that put it all up front, furious with a zooming vigour and the desire to haul, Desecration spew forth a manic barrage of honest warfare in a musical sense that delights abrasively. Unrelenting thrusts of battering chords pounce upon your mind as Jack quickly tongues out some manifesto-ish, yet personal lyrics, and guitarist Dave strums the bombastic beat. The six songs on this 45 revolutions per minute 12" are enough to blow your stack. Especially with tracks like "Macho Man," "Who's in Control?" and the self titled "Desecration." Extreme jolters. Self produced and manufactured, this is a limited gem, a lot like that first Accused 12" with that chaotic quality as well. Truly a "Frash Delicate!"Discography :- 1994 -"West Coast power violence and more" 3 x 7"es boxset (bootleg)

- 1988 -"Metal Gives Us A Headache" 7" comp. It's a nifty little compilation that was put out on Hippycore in 1988. "Metal Gives Us A Headache" features 6 politically aware tracks from some off the beaten track bands. Subvert and Desecration were from Arizona while Dead Silence were out of Colorado and Dissent were from South Dakota. The two "biggest" bands (for M.R.R. readers) were East Bay bands Cringer and Stikky. Each song is preceded with a heartfelt message from the band, some of which are kinda funny sounding now to my cynical ears. Like the other Hippycore records I've seen this comes with a nice insert. The Desecration AZ song featured on here is "In A Child's Eyes (new version)"1. Subvert : What Does It Mean?
2. Dissent : Abe Lincoln
3. Desecration AZ : In a Child's Eyes (new version)
4. Dead Silence : Sally
5. Cringer : Take Back the Night
