Random Acts of Harmony

Folk Songs & Sing Alongs

About Me

Random Acts of Harmony performs throughout New England for large and small audiences who enjoy listening to and singing along with familiar folk tunes sung in three part harmony with acoustic guitar and stand up bass accompaniment. Rob, Dick, and Peter, from Exeter and Peterborough, New Hampshire make up the trio. They each have long musical histories. Over the years they have played and sung in groups that opened for the Beach Boys, The Lettermen, and Pete Seeger. Together they have performed solo and with High Range Band, Sweet Hot & Sassy, The Foggy Dew, and Mamapella. Their musical influences range from late 50's Weavers and Kingston Trio, through Bluegrass and Old Timey, to Folk Rock, Blues, Gospel and even Broadway. Known for their crisp and tight three-part harmonies, the Atlantic News said about a recent concert at Exeter Town Hall “…the vocals had listeners fixed on every soft melodic note.” Along with Traditional American and British Isles folk songs, the popular trio’s music comes from John Prine, Steve Goodman, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Bill Staines, Tom Paxton and many others. Audiences like their tunes, love their harmonies, and not too surprisingly begin singing along. What fun! Random Acts of Harmony, living and playing through yet another Folk Boom.
