PROMOTOR/DJ FROM WEST YORKS UK;Joy has Enjoyed residencys at clubs and venues all over Leeds which include the corn exchange,Mission,the mint club and Rehab. Joy has also enjoyed guest slots at Space,Stinkys peephouse,The love apple,Love leeds 2006,Bradord town and country and north in manchester! Our music policy has a strong emphasis on a more underground Techno sound played and purveyed by some of best DJ's in the business.We also run an old skool promotion from time to time under the Joy classics banner! its not a night to be over looked or underestimated by any means.My history:My first experience of the dance and rave scene was in 1989 when my gran bought me a little sony tape playing walkman with a tape called "In my house"she must have got it from woolies or somewhere similar lol,the artists on it that i can remember where Steve silk hurley,Dj pierre and grand master flash to name but a few. I loved it so much i stole a Steve silk hurley vinyl from a friends sisters bedroom called"the jack that house built"(and i still have it today).It was after this that i came across DJ Sy,Slipmat,Stu allen,and Top buzz Fantazia tapes at a dodgy market stall in my local town!And from there onwards all I wanted to do was go out with my friends and see what the fuss was all about. Unfortunately, they were all slightly older than me so I had to painfully wait a few years before I got the chance to experience this special time. (And that’s not through lack of trying!) . My first outing was at the brilliant “ARK†a monthly rave at Leeds university, where I was lucky enough to visit as much as possible before it finished in 1997. Another favourite of mine and my friends was the legendary Orbit where I was a regular from jan 96 right up until its end. Other clubs id like to acknowledge include, Zone, Maximes, (in their earlier years) Lick and Life @ Bowlers to name a few. My influences from day dot to now are;Joey Beltram,Jeff mills,Dj funk,Dave Clarke,Tony de vit,DJ Sy,Stu allen,Anne Savage,Dj Vertigo,Luke slater,The advent,Marco zafarrano,Robert armarni,Angel alanis,future sound of london,Paul mac,Dj rush,Rob natus,alexander k.katz,Andreas kremer,Cold dust,Form records,Primate,Mark hawkins,Speedy j,Dj misjah,Sven vath,Westbam,Gardel,Pounding grooves,Technasia,Dj skull,Tanith,Dave tarrida,Dave angel,Thomas schumacer,Pro-jex,Nigel richards,Damon wild,sugeon,Derrick may,Juan atkins,Dj pierre,Grand master flash,freddy fresh,Steve 'silk' hurley,and anyone else involved in the electronic music revolution in the late 80's.I live about 6 miles out of Leeds centre,i have three bro's one mum one dad two uncles one aunty numerous cousins and one neice and a gorgeous girlfriend called Helen.
