I'm raised in listening to and playing classical music which beholds the magic world of beauty. Then I also became a big "pop-ist" and turned into a BIG Madonna fan from ten years old. But later I got to know The Carpenters who came strongly into my life in my 18th year. I respect their melodic sense and feeling for beauty! All real artists such as Raul Midon, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell etc... have all my respect and not to mention the pianist; Valentina Lisitsa!! She's AMAZING. I want to grow up to be JUST LIKE HER :-) The way she plays the hardest pieces so IMMACULATELY! She has ALL my respect! I even have some of her video performances on my page :-) But then again there are so many extraordinary musicians out there, but I have seemed to have taken an especial liking in Valentina........... Otherwise there's just too much to mention!!! I'll always be an eighties music fan though :-)))) I'll listen to anything basically if it's quality :-) Classical music I highly appreciate and basically everything but death metal, bluegrass country and fusion jazz blown out of porportion, ha ha c',) WWW.ROSAGUDMUNDSDOTTIR.COM
Oh my - I like Tim Burton's vision as a director and his movies, and basically all well written movies - I like the special effects ones to a certain extent (because I like to see how we develop our technology), and then there are the humane movies such as the Dutch film Antonia's line and artistically cult erotic movies such as The Hunger........... The Neverending story for it's imaginative journey, The Hours based on realistic human circumstances and the list goes on and on.......
I basically prefer quality movies and/or those based on true events or display human relations.
Movies where you actually see actors/actresses act.........lol...
I follow up on the news. I occasionally watch television and YOUTUBE of course :-) ..
Well, when I was younger I read a lot of Stephen King's books (probably 'cause I used to be a thrill seeker...) but now I enjoy true stories or biographies. A book that's moved me is The Good Women of China by Xanrin. A fascinating book. I read it all on a plane from Iceland to NY and when I finished it I went to the plane's bathroom and cried. Well, that's what I call a moving book from reality! I've also read The Art of Practicing; How to make music from the heart by Madeline Bruser. It helped me understand clearer - A BRILLIANT book. A TRUE eye opener!!! HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who's into music, practices an instrument and/or has foundational knowledge of musical structure. I can't be called a reader though!
I remember my first "fan" something was of Eden and Cruz in Santa Barbara LOL - isn't that HILARIOUS!!!??? I developed a strange fixation for them and I guess I believed in true love after that as weirdly as that sounds. I was more fan of Eden though of course ;-)Then I became a Madonna fan. She was my only celebrity heroine when I was young. I grew up in a small town and sex was not discussed in my home, so when Madonna showed up with everything she stood for - it became a great relief for me - of course I shoved her in my parents face all the time!!! Did she care - ehm - NO! lol Then I can't forget Super girl, Super-man, Catwoman from the Spiderman comics and a couple of superheroes more.......My dad was my biggest hero when I was a tiny kid. Still is in many ways, and my mother is too for following her destiny :-) Something's telling me that I should give myself some credit as well ,-) WWW.ROSAGUDMUNDSDOTTIR.COM
