About Me

I like to work and play pretty hard. I'm an Australian. I've lived in the UK since 1998. In March 2007, I relocated to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia for a 12 month contract. I love live music. I love people. I love travel. I hate racism, ignorance and bigotry.

And here's the video for SixNationState - Fire!

...and be sure to check out these guys...

My Interests

most things really. food, wine, travel, people, life. oh, and I'm currently trying to put together my early retirement plan .

I'd like to meet:

Everyone. No, really, I want to meet everyone. Of course some of you deserve a good slap, but I still want to meet you.

Music:

SixNationState rock. You're currently listening to their current single, Where Are You Now? which is out on 26 March 2007. They're signed to Jeepster and are quite possibly the best live band I've ever seen (and I've seen a few!). You can join the official SixNationState forum at KeepDancing.net .

Some other local bands which I'm loving at the moment are Loose Caboose , Rebus , The Bullycats and Hijera .

Chris Howard is putting out some pretty damn special stuff as well.

If you want to know the lowdown on the local scene, you can't go past Long Live Rock and Roll and The Winchester Massive .

My other musical tastes are about as broad as it gets... from fado to nu-metal to happy house to oz rock. You wanna know more? Ask me.

Movies:

Reservoir Dogs, Blue Velvet, Naked Lunch, 2001 A Space Odyssey, Kill Bill (both), Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Jacob's Ladder, Angel Heart, Lantana, Quadrophenia, Donnie Darko, Sommersault, Wild At Heart, Sin City, Casablanca

Television:

The West Wing, Scrubs, Weeds, Spaced, rugby union when it's on, a bit of the news and channel surfing the music channels.

Books:

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Grand Chessboard, 100 Years of Solitude, Still Life with Woodpecker, The Tasmanian Babes Fiasco, ... more soon.

Heroes:

My friends. I have the best bunch of friends anyone could hope for. You know who you are. You're all my heroes.

G'day
