Voting
Each band’s final score will consist of 60% audience vote & 40% judges vote, therefore, it would be wise for bands to bring as many supporters as possible. Bands will be given points for presentation/stage presence, songwriting, musicianship, attendance, originality and crowd participation. Each participating band will receive points based on crowd applause and fan attendance. Fan attendance is recorded at the door with returned flyers/vouchers. Cut off for counting fan attendance at the door is midnight. Any fans arriving after midnight for a particular band, will not count as points for the band, but will be promised a good time and a great party. A total of 4-5 judges per competition will be in attendance. Judges will consist of pre-selected members of the local music and entertainment community and sponsors. Examples include: Record Label reps, Journalists, Record Store Owners/Employees, Booking Agents, Instrument Manufacturers, club promoters, and/or affiliates of music websites, etc. Thursday Rock Live (TRL) organizers make every effort to maintain the diversity of the pool of qualified judges, making sure that all genres and musical tastes are represented in the judging pool that reflects the diversity of the TRL competitors.
Results announcements
A TRL organizer will announce results of that night’s competition around 1:00 am, but no later than 1:30 am. All of the members of a winning band must be present in order to receive nightly winnings. The six bands with the highest total scores from each month will move on to the TRL Finals. Just b/c your band may have the highest score one week, doesn't mean you will automatically advance.
Alternates
In the unfortunate event that a winning band would have to drop out of the competition for any reason, an alternate will be chosen from the losing bands from the previous rounds. If someone in your band gets kicked out of the club on the night of your performance, your band will be disqualified. If someone in your band gets banned from the club on any night for any reason, you are subject to disqualification at the club's request. In short, don't get kicked out.
