Un dieu sans yeux "version acoustique"...MA NOUVELLE STAR... HihihiAuteur, compositeur, interprete, Arnaud Levitre est tombe dans la musique quand il etait petit. Installe derriere son piano, il nous livre la un spectacle original et personnel. Le melange "sucre - sale" des mots sur la musique nous transporte, nous amene a decouvrir son univers. Il chante la vie, caresse ses harmonies a coup de langue francaise. A voir absolument. (journal paris-Normandie).................MA BIO : Né le 15 octobre 1971, je découvre le solfège à l’âge de 6 ans à l’école primaire. A 8 ans, ce sont les premiers contacts avec le clavier : de l’orgue électronique, et oui ! C’était dans l’air du temps à l’époque. C’est à 14 ans que je me rends compte qu’il est temps de se mettre au piano et de rattraper une main gauche que l’orgue avait rendue faignante… C’est la période conservatoire de Rouen. Très classique et un peu sévère, j’y fais mes armes, ingurgitant ainsi les codes classiques, les clés de l’harmonie pour travailler sérieusement et commencer à composer. C’est l’époque folle de la new wave et des créations de groupes entre copains : Crypt Keepers, un groupe avec lequel nous remportons le premier prix de la Sacem des jeunesses musicales de France : cela nous vaudra de faire notre première grande scène au cirque d’hiver (Paris)… Puis vint l’époque du Jazz, qui me marquera jusqu’à aujourd’hui. L’Ecole d’Improvisation de Jazz (EIJ) à Mont Saint Aignan. J’ai alors 19 ans. Cette période n’est que du bonheur : Fac de musicologie (Théorie, harmonie, écriture, histoire de l’Art, ethnomusicologie, chorale, formation à la gestion d’un service culturel, bref que de belles choses versées sur du papier) et l’EIJ où la pratique de l’instrument, l’improvisation sur des standards jazz, les rencontres de musiciens, des profs brillants (Philippe Carment, Bertrand Couloume, etc.) Rapidement nait « Sarah », un trio Jazz assoiffé d’harmonies débridées à la « Joe Zawinul, Sixun, Thélonious Monk, Martial Solal », bref des influences qui résonnèrent dans les bars de la région pendant 8 ans. 1998 : groupe de Funk Pimliko et création de l’association Musi K Gogo (association qui vise à promouvoir la création musicale - enregistrement et création de musique pour la compagnie de théâtre « La compagnie du p’tit bonheur » ; Réalisation d’un CD de rap en partenariat avec la mission locale de Val de Reuil sur le thème de la prévention routière, création de son pour le rappeur Delpro, etc.) Voilà 5 ans que je travaille et cisèle des textes que je mets en musique. Deux années de préparation pour présenter aujourd’hui un spectacle, sans artifices, un mélange de piano et de voix qui traite de l’amour, de l’invitation au voyage, de sujets un peu plus graves et engagés, bref, la vie quoi !

Biography : Born on October 15th, 1971 in Normandy, France, I discovered music theory in elementary school at the age of 6. Two years later, I started running my fingers on a keyboard and like any musicians in the late 70’s, it has to be on an electronic organ. Few years later, when I turned 14, I realized that time had come to start playing piano. I also had to catch up with my left hand which became lazy because of playing electronic organ…Then started a four year period at the music academy of Rouen, France. It was very classic, a bit tough at time but I will never forget that period when I learned all the basics, the keys of harmony and when I started my own compositions. With a bunch of friends, we also set up a band during the new wave era. This group called “Crypt Keepers” won the first price at the Sacem youth music contest. Being the winners of a national contest opened us a spot on the stage at the Cirque d’hiver in Paris, France.Further successes came afterward but the group split off and I decided to move on to a more jazzy style. I had 19 at that time and I got into the Jazz improvisation academy (EIJ) in Mont saint Aignan, France. I consider that period like the best of my life until now, I went to college, getting a major in musicology. I learned the music theory, the harmony, writing, art history, ethnomusicology, choir and cultural department accounting…A lot of versatile things that I keep on using on my daily life. While studying the theory, I was spending must of my time practicing on the keyboard, improvising on jazz standards, meeting musicians, and learning watching brilliant teachers such as Philippe Carment, Bertrand Couloume, etc…A group called “Sarah” came out of that period, based on jazzy harmonies, that trio was inspired by “Joe Zawinul, Sixun, Thélonious Monk, Martial Solal”. During a 8 year period, that trio was played in almost each and every single bars in Normandy.The year 1998 was a major milestone on my musical career. Not only “Funk Pimliko” was born but I also created the association “Music K Gogo” which goal was to promote the musical creativity while helping young bands to record their first CD. At the same time, I also realised a CD featuring several artists such as the rapper Delpro and a rap band from the Mission locale (local social organisation). Moreover, Music K Gogo also composed the music for a theatre company named “La compagnie du p’tit bonheur”.It has been 5 years that I work on texts that I try to put into songs. Within a two year period, I also prepared a show based on a mix of a piano and a suave voice talking about love, travels and topics from our daily life more or less involved on the politic area. To summarize, I could say that my texts are inspired of life in general. That is the reason why everyone can identify itself on at least one of my songs…
