About Me

What is it about summer nights that bring us back to our childhood?
Every kid dreams for that moment in the sun.
For baseball immortality can be reached by just a ball, a bat and some leather.
And sometimes with a little magic, a boys dream becomes a mans reality.
The greatest, of the game of baseball, is made from its marvelous moments that transend time.
Some of these images are so strong they will live forever.
Baseball can extend beyond its white lines and barriers can be broken.
The ball dropping from the sky ever so softly into a glove can mean so much to so many.
Heroes will rise to reach the unreachable. Others will fall.
The games great achievements are measured by a mans determination and desire for destiny.
These moments consistantly capture the attention of the American nation.
Baseball is us. It's part of America's heart and soul.
It's greatness is made up of solitary snapshots projected together into our country's conscious.
At this site I hope to bring you all the things about the glorious history of baseball that make me love the sport so much..
So as you can see, this site has a little of everything past and present.
So sit back and enjoy Guru's Tribute To Baseball!!!
A little about me:
Hi, my name is James and welcome to my tribute to the Greats of Baseball Page.
I was originally born in Flushing, NY, thus one of the reasons why I am a die-hard Mets fan.
My mom is a Mets fan as was her father who, like many other Dodger fans adopted the Mets as their "Home Team" after their beloved Dodgers headed out West.
Baseball is a passion for me and one of my loves.
The Story Behind My Site:
Did you ever love something so much that you think about it pretty much every hour of every day?? Well that is my love for the sport of baseball! Why?? I dont know exactly but I have been a fan of the sport ever since I was a kid. I love pretty much every aspect of the game. But I love its glorious history most of all which is why I choose to make this tribute site of all the greats who have ever played this wonderful game of baseball.
Please take a look at my slideshow below and take a trip down memory lane of some of the greatest players to ever play the game!

My Interests

Click on any of the headings below to find out more about the great game of baseball!

In 1898, Thomas Edison produced the first baseball movie: The Ball Game, which featured two amateur teams from Newark, New Jersey.
Below is that actual footage:

My favorite games of all-time:

Game 6 of the 1986 World Series

Robin Ventrua's"Grand Single" from the 1999 NLCS

Mark McGwire's #62 homerun game vs the Cubs

Cal Ripken breaks the unbreakable record

Pete Rose becomes the all-time hits leader

Mike Piazza becomes the all-time homerun leader for catchers (I was actually at that game)

Games 3 and 4 of the 2003 NLDS, which I actually had the pleasure of attending those 2 great playoff games! Game 4 ends on a collision at the plate between JT Snow and Pudge Rodriguez and Pudge somehow holds onto the ball for the end of the game and the end of the series!

I'd like to meet:
