Music. Specifically Classic Rock, Blues, Classical Baroque and some Christian Rock.
The electric guitar holds a mysteriously strong fascination for me and has ever since I first laid my 4 year old eyes on an older cousin's beautiful sunburst archtop. . .
. . .back in the mid 50's. I play them, as often as I can. I collect them and I regularly covet them on the internet and in music stores.
I have 10 in all - 3 Strats, 2 Teles, a vintage '69 Gibson SG, an Epiphone Emperor and a Dot 335 along with 2 acoustic numbers. And I'm already planning my next acquisition.
I also have a great interest in automobiles, road racing and drag racing (as a fan). I've owned a few in my day and I recently acquired an '07 Chrysler Aspen with a Hemi. It rocks, but I'm still hoping for at least one more sports car before I depart this planet.
My third but certainly not final interest is in things nostalgic, especially from the 40's, 50's and 60's. I love the cars, the music, the fashions, the advertisements, the food and even the almost naive hope for the future coupled with the very real fear of an impending nuclear holocaust. I like to collect items that either come from those years or are very good, accurate reproductions.
I also enjoy a good cigar, a spellbinding book, a meaningful movie, going to a major league baseball game on a Sunday afternoon, travel, shopping, surfing the internet for a deal and vintage pin-up art,
Then there's baseball, specifically Yankee baseball
a team I have followed since my youth.
I'm also woefully addicted to the internet and this My Space thing!
Any esteemed individuals who do not think too highly of themselves, but especially musicians, with similar tastes and interests along with my favorite celebrities.
I'd prefer NOT to meet:
Bands and musicians that do not play music I like, spammers, women & girls looking for a mate or a date and people living in another reality.
I am especially grateful for My Space family and friends like my children Marisa and Michael and brother-in-law Tod and of course my wife for life Sandra. I am also adding (collecting?) "friends" who represent the cream of classic rock, blues, other music genres and film.
I've also found or been added as a friend by some wonderfully creative new bands and musicians.
On a grander scale, a few of the people I would like to have met but who have regretfully departed this world are Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ,
Pope John Paul II,
St. Augustine of Hippo,
Winston Churchill,
Benjamin Franklin, JFK, my paternal Grandfather John Moker and a few others. On the same scale of grandiosity but still (mostly) alive. . .
Keith Richards,
Eric Clapton,
The Dalai Lama and Al Pacino.
Now that's a strange combination of prominent good souls.
First and most assuredly foremost, The Rolling Stones,
