Maggot Hates Meathook is a group of cartoonists that were born and raised in the same town, went to the same school, then went out and had our seperate lives, made different friends and had different life experiences. Then, through some weird twist of fate we were all re-united. We never lost our love for art, so we decided to start up a comic book. We took our characters and stories to an old abandoned warehouse, set up our drawing desks in separate rooms, decorated them in our own styles and got to work. It didn't take too long before we realized why the warehouse was abandoned. There's a... thing that walks the halls around here. His head is a squid, but it looks like a pope hat. He dresses in papal robes and apparently lives just to irritate us. The ghost of Abe Lincoln haunts our bathroom, and doesn't let us leave there until we tip him. Also, since we've been here it seems that Jay can't die. We decided that while our regular comics are the greatest comics in history, comics about this weird building and the weird stuff that happens here would make great comics as well. So enjoy.
Maggot Hates Meathook is;
Mike (artist, writer, puppy kicker) - The leader of the group, a king amongst men. The greatest human being ever to walk the face of the planet. Give your first born childern to him to he can satisfy his bloodlust.
Jay (artist, writer, cryptozoologist) - Jay can combine with 4 midgets to form the mighty Voltron. When he's not writing the ever popular "Two Fucking Sailors" and "Nerd War" strips, he takes his giant flaming sword and fights the giant monsters sent after him by the evil Prince Lotar.
R. Poppy (artist, writer, editor, HTML renegade, general wacko) - A true renaissance man, Poppy enjoys the breadth of modern folk arts such as skateboarding, graffiti, beatboxing, CSS, and watching Johnny Knoxville injure himself. Sometimes she enforces Chicago style.
Amber (artist, writer, faerie wrangler) - In her native Mexico, Amber terrorizes the villagers, eating their chickens and sucking the blood out of their goats. Cryptozoologists have been working for years to find Amber, but have failed. Working with Amber has been great, with the exception of when she was hungry and ate the cat that lived in the office. Her name was Schmoopsie, and we will all miss her.
