"the currents whisper softly..... as light slowly emerges..... the candle flickers.... and the smoke arises.... a new song in my heart....."
I am into music since when I had the chance to put my hands on a vintage organ from my grandfather. I started writing my own music when I was 11 and never stopped trying to express my innermost feelings and emotions through the sounds. I used to think that music is the noblest form of art, closer to the deepest secrets of the universe and human heart. I played guitars and keyboards in several bands before the foundation of Wyndigo, renamed later as Miriam. I have spent all my time trying to get the most out of this project and it was quite successful, since Miriam released 2 promo CD’s and 2 official full length CD’s collecting enthusiastic reviews and gathering a number of fans throughout the world. I think that Miriam has reached a standard in electro-atmospheric and ethereal sounds that I am really proud of, and I will continue working very hard in order to maximize it all and give ourselves increasing satisfaction. Nowadays we are trying to explore the borderline of our sonic possibilities, melting together electronic soundscapes and electric vibes, pushing it further while keeping an eye on my favorite composers ever: Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Bjork, Bowie and Roxy Music. We want MIRIAM. to exceed our own expectations by means of a new approach to music creation and sound shaping, and let our feelings touch the most introspective side of music.

[Beautiful]: something elegant, slightly unexpected, non-conventional, from outer world, feminine. The song "Beauty" from Ladytron.
[Painful]: something that you get yourself trapped within, that you can't escape at all.
[Sensual]: something that drives blood into motion, the most distant thing from spirituality.
[Timeless]: something that will survive this everyday's corrosion. A landscape of the Baltic. Or a distant part of universe.
[Inspiring]: the same as above, something huge and impressive, distant and untouchable. Distances are inspiring like no other things.
[Mystical]: something closer to the heart of creation. The night when we walked to see Karol for the last time.
[Angelic]: something lovely, close to mystical; the eyes of the poor and desperate, or the good hand of someone that you trust in.
[Disturbing]: the noise, the lack of openness, the slavery to money.

I am and always have been a silent person; if there’s something that I really hate it is Noise. [eighties] Noise is everywhere: in the crowd of the streets, in the middle of a dancefloor and in the background of our lives. [nineties] Getting in contact with dark-wave music was the key to my inspiration: singing was a consequence. [nineties] I have been playing many instruments before discovering the possibility of the most complex sounding tool ever: human voice has shades and shapes that machineries will never reach, and I am proud to use it and explore it everyday. When we founded Wyndigo, we were into dark-wave music and electro, and it worked very well as we turned it into MIRIAM and entered the professional production world. This experience is going on and will probably lead us far beyond our initial expectations. [1998 – 2008] On the other hand, we needed to move a step forward towards a pristine sound and a mostly original composition approach: that’s why MIRIAM is evolving very fast and leaning towards new experimentation. [2007] Our 2 releases “Scents” and “When Beauty Is Invisible” have collected enthusiastic reviews throughout these years. [2008] I wish I have the chance to explore my vocal possibilities by means of different singing techniques and shaping my singing style differently, trying to add more depth and broaden the band’s capabilities. Our target is to reach the listeners feelings and communicate our visions and introspection with our sounds. [2008] Nowadays, I have turn into a more spiritual person: my lyrics sometimes lean towards the spiritual side of things such as faith and belief: our latest song “Endless” has been written under the impression of the Holy “Sindone”, which is told to be the original tissue that was used when Jesus was buried. [2004] Love is silently hosted in our lyrics, it is sometimes explicitly mentioned, in its most introspective and hidden shades. [2007] Landscapes are another source of inspiration: endless distances and empty spaces, large and impressive visions; everything is there for the people that want to see them. [2007] I have turn into a more balanced person, through a more analytic approach to life and its problems; being analytic and being spiritual is not a contradiction; science is not so distant from faith as it is thought to be. [2007] At the end of the day, the bottom line of my artistic creativity is communicating my feelings: through these communication media, it is turning into a beautiful and totally fulfilling experience, that’s why I have great expectation for the future; nowadays, everything is possible.
I have an ordinary life that makes me feel like I am "constrained" by ordinary things; I basically hate ordinary things not for being a snob, but since they repeat over and over again and therefore are awful boring. I wish my life to be devoted to music and art in general, to catch meaningful things every single second of my life, from morning to evening, to life in a sort of superior consciousness where the deep secret life of things may be understood. This is not possible everyday, so I carry on with quite a ordinary life. Music and my studio are a portal to such a superior consciousness. Plugging a microphone with some good loops gives me a sense of beauty and purity, and makes me feel whole again, maybe for an hour or maybe for a day. I have good friends and family and I appreciate them being around all the time, but if it weren't for these short and deep emotions, probable it wouldn't really be worth it.
