About Me
Gateway Entertainment, Inc. is a full service music publishing/production company and record label located on historic Music Row in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
Ron Cornelius started The Cornelius Companies in 1986 and Gateway Entertainment in 1995 after a 12 year run as one of the most sought after guitarists in America (Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen ...) and running the publishing offices of both the A.T.V. Music Corporation and The Drake Music Group.
In 1996, Gateway Entertainment began making waves in the Positive Country marketplace; garnering an award for Number 1 record label in that radio format for 1996, 1997, and 1998. With artists like Paula McCulla, Buddy Hyatt, and Michael Grimm (among several others), Gateway Entertainment had more Number 1, Top 5, and Top 10 songs on the national Positive Country charts than any other label; including Warner Bros./Alliance Records, Reunion Records, Word Records, and The Brentwood Group.
In 1998, Ron elected to put Gateway Entertainment into a dormant state, as the Positive Country radio format began to cool, making it non-cost effective to produce those albums. Ron continued to run his publishing company and produce records in the Mainstream Country realm as he watched the market, waiting for the perfect time to strike again.
Today, Gateway Entertainment has partnered with an internet marketing force, headed by Adam Wood, allowing it to resurface once again to provide the world with quality music productions in the Mainstream Country and Alternative Rock categories.
With an innovative website currently in development, Gateway Entertainment will make a permanent home in the music industry, changing the face of the modern Country record label.
Currently, Miko Marks (recently honored as Best New Country Artist of the Year for 2006 by New Music Weekly in Hollywood) is a Gateway Entertainment Production, along with Chris Gray and Jernie (visit them on their respective Myspace sites).
