Kristina Kanders was born in Cologne, Germany, into a family of professional musicians. She moved to New York City in 1987 to study jazz (MA, Queens College) and performed on drums and percussion with Kenwood Dennard, Cyro Baptista, John Zorn, Cibo Mato, Pizzicato Five, for the Directors of Stomp and many others in numerous local and international concerts and festivals. From 1994 to 2005 she taught classes at the Jazz & Contemporary Music Program of New School University, NYC. Since 2005 she's back in Cologne, producing her own music and performing with Frank Köllges Missiles. Her debut album "For All People" was released December 2007 and can be purchased through her website www.kristinakanders.com
