About Me

I have secretly replaced your regular coffee with Folgers Crystals.

You scored as Postmodernist, Postmodernism is the belief in complete open interpretation. You see the universe as a collection of information with varying ways of putting it together. There is no absolute truth for you; even the most hardened facts are open to interpretation. Meaning relies .. and even the language you use to describe things should be subject to analysis.

My Interests

Cooking healthy stuff. Watching the football or cheesy SciFi (go AVP!) while havin a cold brewski with Seen Li. Laughing at the cats who live in my house. Worrying about trying to be Zen. Writing about real people and fake monkeys.

I'd like to meet:

The guy who gives out lottery checks. I'd really like to have a reason to meet him.

Music:

Man, I like it all (yes that includes some country and some rap) Alright, anything that is honest. Classical rules for background; old cowboy songs and Marty Robins tunes make me smile; Dean Martin makes me laugh out loud; Chevelle and Tool and My Chemical Romance make me think and get to the next level on the Stepmill; Dio scares me; Sarah Vaughn melts me; 70's southern rock makes me slap my knee; 70's disco raises my hands and shakes my booty; 80's cheese rock makes me bang my head; The Best of Journey is still the BEST CD of all time! you know it is.the only thing I can't stomach is Pop, blech. All those auto-tuned vocal stylings of a PR created Teen Girl or Boy are just contrived.

Movies:

I am IRONMAN! Been re-watching The Wall, cause it's awesome. Love the Cohen Bros (except No Country yuck) Love the Sam Raimi directorial stylings of "HELP there is a camera chasing me!" in the Evil Dead movies. Lots of stuff by Takeshi, like Battle Royale. Dig Stephen Chow's Shaolin Soccer and King of Comedy (not the Deniro version). And of course, The Godfather.

Television:

The Soup, Daily Show, Colbert, Reaper, Boston Legal and Metalacalypse. (it's brutal)

Books:

Now I'm reading 'Eat. Pray. Love' It's fun, well-written and making me hungry!Other than the man, gimme an interesting story that is well written and I'm on board. Fav writers are Katherine Dunn, Sherman Alexie and Jonathan Safran Foer. Sherman Alexie could write the phone book and and I'd read it cover to cover. He's a brilliant prose writer and a lovely poet.

Heroes:

Gandhi, MLK jr, Bobby Kennedy, Thich Nhat Hahn, the Dalai Lama, People in General - Life is one tough bugger.

Oh Poop - a tale of limited plumbing

It was a beautiful New Years Eve morning, sun was shining, birdies were chirping when suddenly an ominous gurgle bubbled out of the bathtub drain, followed by some lovely multi-colored waste (not soli...

The reason I’m writing my Dad’s story

My Daddy was born on a hot July afternoon in 1936, 10 weeks before he was supposed to be. His mother had worked up quite a hankerin' for strawberries and was stung by a bee while she was in the garde...

Lucky - (this post is a good emitic)

I called today to ask my mom why neither of us had married for money, but instead had chosen love. Her theory is that, if she had more money, she'd have more problems. I think that's just a coping...

What not to say

When your boyfriend of 2 years hears Peter Gabriel's "Your Eyes" on the bar jukebox, looks at you adoringly (maybe drunkly) and says "This should be our song..." and gives you a sweet little smile tha...

Turkey and Darfur (still trying to do something)

Hiya :)I've had a tumultuous year. But it is a walk in the park compared to what's going on in the rest of the world. I received an e-mail newsletter from savedarfuf.org this morning, asking folks t...

To all the men I've loved before...

George Michael recently lit up a joint while being interviewed on the BBC. He says that canabis makes him stable and happy. And apparently he's stable and happy while passing out behind the wheel of...
