Virgin Scars

BIO: Jerry Von was born in the Bronx, NY and he started writing songs when he was 12. Jerry claims "Elvis Presley and David Bowie kept me alive". Jerry was involved with co-writing songs for a band called GUTTERBOY and frontman Dito in the early 90s who were signed to both the Geffen and Mercury music labels (you might notice Dito's name from A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS; a book and movie he directed that was critically acclaimed). In the fall of 2006; Jerry was back in touch with Danny Hulsizer (the guitarist for Gutterboy who also recently moved back to the NYC area after years of being a successful commercial writer in Los Angeles) and started working on a bunch of songs. The first two songs they recorded were "Sixgun" and "Love's Avenue". Scott Harris, drummer and longtime NYC scene drumming veteran (and also Danny's brother in law) heard the material and was interested in helping Danny and Jerry arrange their songs and played drums. Together they collectively formed Virgin Scars. Danny's brother Eric (who also was the bassist of Gutterboy) was brought into the band to play live shows.
