Through this page, I was lucky enough to meet the gentlemen of Portrait (Irving Washington III, Michael Angelo Saulsberry, and Eric Kirkland...the top 4 friends on my list). But, this page is simply a conduit to connect Portrait's fans and friends with the men who made the music. Portrait came out of L.A. onto the R&B scene in 1992 riding on the end of the 'new jack' era. The group's self-titled debut album, "Portrait" was released in the same year and featured two hits on the charts, "Here We Go Again!" which reached # 3 on the R & B chart, and 11 on the Hot 100. "Honey Dip" featured similar sounds and reached Number 18 on the R & B charts with its infectious ability to get people on the dance floor. In 1995, the group released their second album, "All That Matters." The album had hits with "I Can Call You" reaching Number 22 on the R&B charts and "How Deep Is Your Love," a cover of the Bee Gees song of the same name, briefly appearing on the Hot 100. Finally, "Greatest Hits" featured some of their most popular songs, along with covers such as "Three Times a Lady" "How Deep is Your Love" and "Be Thankful for What You've Got." Thanks to Portrait, we are....
