My mom (Pancreatic Cancer, February 24, 2005), My Father (October 9, 1998). Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart, DELTA Force Operatives who volunteered to land and guard Michael Durant, a Blackhawk pilot, after his Blackhawk helicoper "Super Six-Four" crash landed in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1993. This story is illuminated quite well in both the book and movie entitled "Black Hawk Down." These men knew they were going to die, but they chose to try to help their comrade. And, Pat Tillman. It is not that he died, but that he gave up the American Dream to serve. Those currently serving in Afghanistan and the Middle East.
