About Me

Photo: Pollok Park in Autumn
near Glasgow, Scotland Hi! I'm Gail, a happily married stay-at-home Mom of two boys, age 11 & 14. I've been a PTA mom, room mom, Cub Scout Leader and now that the boys are in Boy Scouts I get to watch my husband do the Scout Leader bit!
I wasn't going to do this MySpace thing, but since so many of my friends are on here, I figured it was time. It's just hard explaining to the kids why I'm on here when I've told them it's "evil" and they aren't allowed on!
I'm known as "devonette" in online worlds such as There.com and Uru Live (Myst).
In There.com I spend most of my time exploring and questing, doing trivia games, participating in themed events, being an environmental activist(?)and spending time with friends. In Uru I love exploring, solving puzzles, helping others and visiting with friends.
To confuse you even more, I'm known as "Lady Isobel Reid of Stirling" in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)although my official membership has lapsed during the past few years. My personna there is an early 16th century woman from Scotland, but I love wearing garb from many centuries, from peasant clothing to High Elizabethan finery. For a number of years I was exchequer and cooks guild mistress for the Shire of Iron Bog (East Kingdom). I love doing period cooking, embroidery and singing madrigal music, and at one time I was a decent dancer and archer, though I'm rusty now.
And lastly (though actually it was my first "alter identity"), to my friends from my Bay City Roller days (1976-1984?)I was known as "Allie's Gallie" or "Mama Loonie" when I ran the BCR club/sorority known as Rollerloonies. I have so many great memories of those days, and am still in contact with so many friends I made back then and the many new ones I've made in recent years! In fact, here are some photos of the UK2K Reloaded BCR fest I just attended April 20 - 22!
