About Me

Started as a young scientist. Picked up guitar in college. Left Ohio about 15 yrs ago with a backpack and guitar. The quest for experience and enlightenment led Mark Alan to CO where friends encouraged moving to Austin. Thought I could be "famous." Hehe. Moved to Austin where one of the sayings is "You kick a dumpster, two guys will jump out. One of them will play guitar better than you." Practicing scales three hours a day gives tendonitis and bleeding fingers. I have friends I'll maybe never catch up to on guitar. I hear simple music that I love all the time. It all boils down to what touches us. I just want to make music that resonates with all of us.Musicians wishing to collaborate are cordially invited to email me. Especially if you play the bass. ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAY THE STANDUP BASS.

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/threeweedsalad
Band Members: Mark Alan plus several of me homies as soon as we find a bass (pref upright) player.
Influences: The last few years have really been about watching the local badass players. Good god there is so many guitarists with mad skills in this town! And many of them quite humble and friendly. No end to the learning...Really this category narrows it down too far. I'm all over the place stylistically. Give a listen, then you tell me.
Sounds Like: ideally, nobody else... But of course it makes my day when told it sounds like some old blues man.
Type of Label: None

Essay Contest: who really wants to see the Dalai Lama?

Funny. Said I'd never play an open mic night again. Not out of spite, just bored with it. Found an open mic that I would make an exception for, lots of nice people, big crowd on a weeknight. I...
