[email protected] ---------- Albert Oykherman was born in Tiraspol, Moldova
(Russian Federation; former Soviet Union) .Ever since childhood, he was inclined toward art, painting, and sculpture.
Well – known Russian Masters – such as Repin , Shishkin, Aivazovsky, and Antokolsky, a sculptor – inspired him.
In 1983, Albert Oykherman graduated from Foynitskiy’s School of Art (a 4- year program of study). That same year, he was drafted into the Russian army where he served as a resident artist and designer, completing a number of large murals.
When Albert Oykherman was discharged from the army in 1985, he established himself as an artist at a clothing factory, continuing to paint on his free time and taking private lessons from a number of renowned Russian artists.
The finished work was displayed in art galleries of Moscow , Tiraspol , Kishinev, and Odessa.
In 1986, Albert Oykherman married Irina.
In 1987, Albert Oykherman entered medical school to study dental technology to support his family, something painting alone could not accomplish.
In 1989, Albert Oykherman worked as a dental technician, continuing to paint during his free hours.
In 1990, Alert Oykherman hosted a personal art show with reception in Odessa.
In 1991, Albert Oykherman welcomed the birth of their daughter Regina.
In 1993, the Oykherman family immigrated to Sarasota Fl.
Customs prohibiting the export of any Russian paintings, Albert Oykherman wasn’t able to bring any with him. That same year, he worked as a dental technician to continue supporting his family.
A few years later, Albert Oykherman took up art, again, on his free time, to continue exploring his passion for it.
In 1995, Albert and Irina Oykherman welcomed the birth of their son Edward.
In February, 2005, for the first time since arriving in the U.S.A., Albert Oykherman held his first artist showing and reception in the United States at the Longboat Framing Gallerie .
In January, 2006, Albert Oykherman held his art show at Jewish Community Center in Sarasota, Fl.
