Lion Vibrations

LION VIBRATIONS - a brief history and introduction. The band was established in the year 1997 and during first initial few years was known as ZGROZA.The fruits of this era of bands history were three major albums “Message 4U”. The fourth album called “Dub 4U” played the major role in linking the tradition with fresh ideas resulting in changing the name to LION VIBRATIONS. Smooth balancing on the edge of Roots and Dub being the key generes of LV's music was a result of constant experiments in their fresh songs and compsitions. However openmindness and fresh approach of band members lets us experience noticable traces of jazz. LV's current musical formula was created by adding up a second trumphet which means that now LV have what we call a “full brass section”. During recording of album “Over The Rainbow” LV invited famous lead singer (“Smierc Kliniczna”, R.A.P. and DiM) Jerzy "Bertz" Mercik. However the upcoming album “Save Us...” was recorded with a help of another famous polish jazzman and sax player - Piotr Baron. At this very moment band is getting ready to promote the “Save Us...” album which is going to see a “daylight” this summer (2008). Lion Vibrations would like to invite everyone to witness this historical event during the world-famous european reggae festival which is called Reggae Ostróda Festiwal www.reggae.ostroda.pl and is going to take place between 14-17 august 2008. It is important to mentioned that over the years LION VIBRATIONS took part in the major polish reggae festivals: “Winter Reggae”, “Ostroda Reggae Festival”, “Africa”, “Reggae Dub Festiwal”, “Reggaeland”.... and also played several concerts across Europe (Germany, Czech Republic, Slovenia). LV had an opportunity and pleasure to play alongside many known reggae bands and artits such as: Steel Pulse, Gentleman, Dub Syndicate, Zion Train, Michael Black, Fred Locks, Twinkle Brothers, Sixth Revelation, Hypnotix... Band also recorded a video clip to the song “Jah Love” and too part in a documentary about one of the biggest festivals in Poland “Winter Reggae”.
Grupa powstala w 1997 roku i przez pierwsze lata funkcjonowala pod szyldem Zgroza. Ten okres w historii zespolu udokumentowany zostal trzema albumami, natomiast plyta „ Dub 4 U” stala sie lacznikiem miedzy tradycja a nowym wizerunkiem, który przyjal nazwe LION VIBRATIONS. Eksperymenty z róznymi odmianami reggae doprowadzily do wytworzenia swoistego stylu mieszczacego sie w brzmieniu roots i dub, ale otwarte glowy muzyków sprawily, ze w kompozycjach grupy slyszalne sa równiez wplywy jazz’u. Istotnym czynnikiem, który wplynal na obecna formule prezentowana przez zespól bylo poszerzenie skladu do pelnej sekcji detej. W takim skladzie zarejestrowane zostaly kolejne plyty LION VIBRATIONS. Na krazek „ Over The Rainbow” zaproszony zostal do wspólpracy wokalista Jerzy „Mercedes” Mercik (Smierc Kliniczna, RAP, DiM), natomiast w sesji albumu „Save Us” uczestniczyl wybitny polski saksofonista jazz’owy- Piotr Baron. Zespól wlasnie przygotowuje sie do promocji swojej najnowszej produkcji, która jeszcze w tym roku trafi do rak sluchaczy. Godnym podkreslenia jest takze fakt, ze LION VIBRATIONS uczestniczyl w najwiekszych polskich festiwalach m.in. Winter Reggae, Afryka, Ostróda Reggae Festiwal, Reggae Dub Festiwal Regalowisko, Reggae Most, Reggaeland, a takze gral zagranica, czyli w Niemczech, Czechach, na Slowacji. Ponadto mial okazje wystepowac u boku takich artystów jak: Dub Syndicate, Zion Train, Michael Black, Fred Locks, Twinkle Brothers, Steel Pulse, Apache Indian, Gentleman, The Skatalites, Mystic Revelation of Rastafari, Easy Star All-Stars. Zespól posiada takze na swoim koncie teledysk do utworu „Jah Love” oraz udzial w filmie „Wzrasta Fala” opowiadajacym o festiwalu „Winter Reggae”.
