About Me

Stefan Wester was born in Alingsas, Sweden. He started playing guitar when he was twelve years old. At age nineteen, he moved to Stockholm to study at the Royal College of Music with Rolf la Fleur. He also performed in several masterclasses with such ackomplished musicians as David Russell, Tilman Hoppstock, Scott Tennant, Marco Socias, John Mills, Eric Lammers and Deborah Mariotti. Since he graduated in 1995, he has been teaching guitar and playing concerts. In 1998, he moved to Pitea in the north of Sweden to teach guitar at the School of Music and Dance where he still lives with his fianceÃ© AdÃ©le and two cats and a dog. This year he will be teaching, playing concerts with Duo Favoloso, a guitar duo with Stefan Wester and Joakim WikstrÃ¶m and also work on a article and give solo recitals about russian music for 7-string guitar.
