Verslag van de CE Awards in de Charlatan Gent 02/02/08A Leading Lady, two backings and five boys, that’s the line-up of Brussels/Tirlemont (BE) based nu-funk/post-soul band DIBBY.Ines Vranckx (vox), Brenda Bertin and Katrien Pierlet (backings), Karel De Bondt (guitar), Tom Bessemans (keys), Wim Smeyers (drums), Dries Geusens (bass) and Gilbert Lens (sax) succeed in maintaining the heat that brought them together during the summer of 2006 in their sweaty-swinging blend of pop, funk and soul.After winning the AB Cocoon contest 2006 DIBBY went to the studio for the AVATARS recordings, in collaboration with Maarten Heynderickx (engineer of Zornik and Millionaire).On Myspace they were discovered by DJ Sven Van Hees, who remixed the catchy DIBBY tune “THINK IT OVER”. Both the remix and the original were sent to San Fransisco – USA for a mastering session by legendary engineer Mark Andrus.“THINK IT OVER” is available worldwide on I-Tunes (Your Lips label) and received good support and airplay on several radiostations, e.g. Stubru (playlist), Radio1, FM Brussel (playlist) and Urgent (playlist).DIBBY has built up a good live-reputation last year, thanks to succesfull gigs on the stages of Suikerrock (headliner Stella Bakstage), AB (Late night show Macy Gray), Botanique, Brussel Bad, Fiestajet and StUK.Come and see, come and hear!DIBBY
