About Me
Starts studying piano, at age of 8, at the Amalia Navasáez Music Studio (Barcelona).
1989-90 Starts studying electric bass and double bass at the Conservatory of Barcelona, and Taller de Musics, with main teachers: Enric Ponsa, Mario Rossy, Rai Ferrer.. Harmony and Arrangements with Alvaro Is and Lluis Verges.
Receives different grants from the Catalan gouvernment and the Italian cultural department to assist at the XIX edition of Siena Jazz international seminar (studying wth Furio di Castri, Enrico Pieranunzi...) and to travel to N.Y.C. (and receive private lessons with Bruce Barth, Ben Street and Scott Colley)- between 1994 and 2000-. And also travels to Paris to study with famous classical bass player François Rabbath.
Has worked with many reknown musicians from the national and international scene, such as: John Mc.Neal, Jason Lindner, Bill Mc.Henry, Perico Sambeat, Carme Canela, Guillermo Klein, Jorge Rossy, David Xirgu, Ben Waltzer, Benet Palet, Miguel Poveda, Antonio Canales, Mayte Martin, Pietro Tenolo, Dave Schnitter, etc...
As a member of groups like: Guillermo Klein 8tet; Micamale; Lindner-Valle -Ayza trio; Laia Cagigal (Apnea); David Mengual Project; Trio Interplay; and her own quintet (Giulia Valle Group), she has performed in different jazz festivals (Terrassa, Canarias, Girona, Barcelona, Liguria...)
Has also worked in the music production of catalan theatre companys such as Dagoll Dagom and "El musical mes petit".
She teaches at the Escola de Música de Badalona and works as a stable rythm section for the jazz ensembles at the E.S.M.U.C (Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya).
She's also recorded many discs for Fresh Sound New Talent as a co-leader & sideman and for Omnitone.With the album Giulia Valle Group "COLORISTA" (2004), she won the Award to the BEST COMPOSER 2007 of A.M.J.C. She's also participated on Miguel Poveda's “Desglaç†and Fundación Tony Manero's “Click†C.d.'s.
These days she's touring presenting "DANZA IMPREVISTA" (2007) her new C.d. -second as a leader-.
