ABOUT AMBER HAGERMAN In January 1996, nine-year-old Amber Hagerman was riding her bicycle on a warm Saturday afternoon when a neighbor heard the girl scream. The neighbor saw a man pull Amber off her bike, throw her into the front seat of his pickup truck, and drive away at a high speed.The neighbor called police and provided a description of the suspect and his vehicle, but couldn’t recall much else. Arlington Police and the FBI interviewed other neighbors and searched for the suspect and vehicle. Local radio and TV stations covered the story in their regular newscasts.Four days later, Amber’s body was found in a drainage ditch four miles away. Her throat had been cut. Her kidnapping and murder remain unsolved.A concerned citizen contacted a Dallas area radio station, suggesting the idea that Dallas radio stations should repeat news bulletins about abducted children just like they do severe weather warnings.The idea was presented to the Association of Radio Managers (ARM) composed of general managers of the major radio stations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The sheriff's office said Farkas demonstrated to investigators how he picked up the child by the waist, shook him and slammed his head into the wall.Investigators said Farkas told them he realized about 4:30 Thursday morning, about eight hours after the incident, that the boy was not breathing. He said he called the boy's mother at work and told her the child had fallen out of bed.Farkas brought the victim to Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson. Medical staff treated the child and had him transported to the Davis medical center in Sacramento for further treatment. Cops: If He's Had Three Victims, He's Had Ten If there's one thing authorities know about serial rapists, it's that they usually don't stop until incarceration or death forces them. That's why police are desperate to find a man whose DNA proves he's already raped at least three women, and is likely looking for more victims.On September 14, 1994, a 30-year-old woman arrived at the Lansing, Michigan house she shared with two other women. As she walked down the hallway, a man jumped out from behind her, slapped a gloved hand over her mouth, and threatened to kill her if she didn't "shut up." He demanded jewelry and money, and since she thought he was just there to rob her, she took him to her bedroom -- where she kept her good jewelry. She told the intruder he could have her wedding ring. But she soon discovered money and jewelry weren't really what he was after -- and she'd fallen right into his trap. He tied her up with pantyhose, gagged her, and put a pillowcase over her head so she couldn't see his face. The man raped her, and then left.It was during their investigation of this crime cops first discovered the rapist's apparent knack for developing ruses to carry out his attacks. The night before the Lansing rape, a man called the house saying he was from a landscaping company. He said their landlord had asked him to take a look at the property, so one of the women in the house gave him an address and directions. Cops believe the rapist had seen an add in a newspaper placed by one of the women in the house looking for a new roommate. Seeing the phone number and an easy target, cops think the rapist called the number and pretended to be a landscaper to get an address for his first known attack.It was a daring scheme, but he'd clearly still been a little nervous during the attack -- he had hidden inside the house, and had worn a mask so his victim couldn't see his face. But cops say he was about to become a lot bolder.Another Attack, Another Ruse In the middle of the day on March 1, 1995, a woman arrived at her Birmingham, Michigan home from a morning business meeting. She'd been home all of ten minutes when the doorbell rang. Standing on her doorstep was a well-dressed white male who told her he was from a real estate company, waiting for a late client. Telling her he couldn't wait any longer, he asked for a pen and paper so he could leave a note for the client. According to the woman, the entire time he was talking he was petting her dog and acting like a normal, friendly person. She had no idea the man she was about to let into her home had already committed at least one rape -- and was about to make her his second victim.As she walked toward her living room to grab some paper, the alleged rapist pulled out a silver revolver and demanded money. She gave him 100 dollars from her purse -- but he told her wanted her jewelry. Holding the gun into her back, he forced her into the bedroom, where he tied her up using a belt and pantyhose. Just like in the first rape, he put a pillowcase over her face, raped her, and then calmly walked out of the house.Third Victim Gives Police Description The rapist's third known victim had been on vacation two weeks prior to her attack. When she arrived home to Columbus, Ohio from her trip, her doorbell rang -- and standing in front of her was the unknown rapist. He'd come prepared with another scam to get into his victim's home.This time, he pretended to be a new neighbor on the block whose utilities hadn't yet been activated. He asked if he and his "family" could use her bathroom -- that they got sidetracked at home and would be stopping by in a minute. The woman had noticed a "For Sale" sign down the street, and said he seemed so friendly she didn't give letting him into her home a second thought. Once inside, the rapist told her he had a gun and would kill her if she didn't cooperate. Sticking to his typical routine, he tied her up, used a pillowcase to cover her face, and raped her.Once police arrived, the victim was able to recall enough detail about her rapist to help artists draw a composite sketch. When DNA results came back and cops realized all three rapes were committed by the same man, the Birmingham victim who'd also seen the man's face was shown the composite based on the Columbus victim's description. When she saw it, she told police it was the same man. Cops believe the sketch is an excellent depiction of what the serial rapist looks like. Information valid as of last update. A Body In The Park:
Philadelphia Police discovered the body of a 30-year-old woman who had been raped, beaten and strangled in the River Park section of Fairmount Park on July 17, 2003. Her body was found face down over a log in a shallow grave deep within the park near the 3500 block of Conshohocken Avenue. Police say her killer left her clad only in a sports bra, running shoes and socks.The 5-foot-1, 100-pound body discovered that summer day was that of Rebecca Park, a fourth-year medical student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Rebecca was also a second lieutenant in the Army Reserves, and police were able to identify her after running her fingerprints through military records. She lived just a few blocks away in an apartment on Lankenau Avenue, and an autopsy confirmed that she died of manual strangulation.Wanted posters still hung in prominent places, and the local news kept the story fresh in the public's mind. Yet despite their efforts, several good leads cops received were empty.
Police Link Crimes, Come Up With Sketch
Within hours of receiving confirmation that Rebecca had been raped before being murdered, police announced they had made a positive DNA link between her rape and homicide and another attack. Police say a 21-year-old woman had been raped three months earlier --on April 30, 2003-- in Fairmount Park.This victim, as well as an eyewitness who spotted a man at the scene of Rebecca's murder, gave investigators such detailed descriptions of the suspect that cops were able to come up with a colored composite sketch of the perpetrator.Philadelphia police immediately went public with their discovery and covered trees and signpost lining the trails of Fairmount Park with wanted posters. Now with help from the public police hoped to find the alleged rapist and murderer. Besides the composite sketch of the suspect's, the poster described the aqua and purple Zallies Shop Rite shirt he wore during the attack and the metallic purple 10-speed bicycle he used as a getaway "vehicle."Four months after Rebecca Park's murder, Philadelphia police were still on high alert. Wanted posters still hung in prominent places, and the local news kept the story fresh in the public's mind. Yet despite their efforts, several good leads cops received were empty.But the trails in Fairmount Park sure weren't.
Another Attack:
Despite police warnings, park-goers continued to frequent Fairmount Park's jogging trails and picnic areas -- refusing to let the predator control their lives. But for 36-year-old "Lisa," refusing to change her well-established jogging routine proved to be a near-fatal mistake.Toward the end of her usual six-mile jog, Lisa was attacked from behind and held at knife-point in a secluded portion of the park on Oct. 25, 2003.Lisa immediately knew her attacker was the same man whose face was plastered on wanted posters throughout the park. But the woman who wasn't going to let this rapist control her life, certainly wasn't about to let him take it.Lisa fought her attacker, sustaining multiple wounds to her chest, hands and abdomen. Eventually, the attacker gave up and ran away from the scene of the crime. And Lisa -- bloody, but alive -- was picked up by a passing vehicle.Cops say that was the last time the Fairmount Park Rapist attacked, and after his battle with Lisa, they say he seemed to disappear without a trace. Now they want to make sure he can't hurt anyone else.On Dec. 1, 2005, AMW, along with the Outdoor Advertising Association of America, erected a billboard with a police sketch of the Fairmount Park rapist in Philadelphia. It was a cool spring night, but something along the waterfront felt different that night. A man approached the woman from behind as she began to jog and attacked her. Police say the man tried to rape her, but the woman fought back. When they tested her fingernails after the attack, police found traces of a male's DNA. Unfortunately the DNA didn't match any other criminals in the area, but the woman's description of the suspect did. The description led police to two similar attacks in Miami Beach. However, the investigation into these three cases soon stalled.New York Rape Linked To Florida Attacks It was August 30, 2005. A 68-year-old woman who had hit hard times was living under a bridge beneath the West Side Highway in Manhattan. Her make-shift home was just a stone's throw from water and from the posh hotels on 72nd Street.It was late at night when a man came up from behind and began to beat the woman badly. He also raped the woman but she fought back. She grabbed a gold chain off the suspect's neck and hid it underneath her. When she was sure her attacker had left the area, she made her escape. That's when a hotel doorman noticed she was covered with blood and called 9-1-1. Police tested the necklace and her clothing for DNA. A hit came back connecting the New York attack with the three Florida attacks based on DNA and descriptions. They had a serial rapist on their hands.Surprisingly, all four victims saw the suspect vividly and provided police with an exact description of him. The similarities in details the victims provided were uncanny.In addition, the M.O. was always the same. The man approached older women, from behind - was very rough - and always attacked his victims near water.These victims provided police with crucial evidence and now they need AMW's help to crack this case. When "America's Most Wanted" profiled the wedding dress attacker, our team prepared for a busy night. But detectives and producers were amazed at the overwhelming response. AMW gave viewers clues -- everything from the style of the suspect's clothing to the sound of his voice.Viewers called in with multiple theories about the suspect's red face, his motives and possible locations. And before our hotline closed for the night, dozens of viewers had already sumbitted their own profiles.However, the most intriguing calls came from a select group of brave tipsters. They called to share terrifying tales of their own encounters with someone who has eerie similarities to the wedding dress attacker. These women had placed ads in newspapers across the country advertising the wedding dress. A lot of those calls came from Alabama -- the same state where cops think the suspect last struck. Have no doubt, cops working this case will try to reach out to those callers to see if they had in fact come into contact with the wedding dress attacker.Following the show, detectives worked into the early morning hours sorting through the massive amount of tips they received. Adding It All Up So Far:
Over the years, police have put together a collection of clues indicating that the suspect is a sick individual with an unusual fetish: wedding dresses. It doesn't hold true in every case, but in most of the cases cops say the attacker targeted women who were advertising bridal gowns for sale.While it appears the attacker knew a lot about his victims before targeting them, the police know a lot about the attacker, too. Victims describe him as someone who was older, with a red face, oily hair and stiffness in his right hand. But that's not all. The victims also took note of what the suspect was wearing. Many of the women who endured attacks say he was dressed in out-dated clothing from the 1970s.

Las Vegas Police have been combing the region in hopes of locating a man accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl.Cops say that on July 8, 2006 at about 10 in the morning, the victim's mother walked in on her daughter being sexually abused by their tenant of the last month, Jose. A fight ensued between the woman and Jose resulting in Jose's escape out of the apartment's second story window.Detectives believe Jose looks for day labor jobs at the intersection of Rancho Drive and Bonanza Road in Las Vegas, a mile away from the apartment where the incident took place. Cops stress that time is of the essence because not only does Jose's occupation enable him to be anywhere, they also fear that Jose may be an illegal immigrant and trying to escape to Mexico.Jose was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, a yellow and orange shirt, grey pants and black shoes. The FBI has uncovered another child predator on the Internet. This time, instead of still pictures, they say the suspect created a disturbing video of himself molesting a baby. AMW fans have already helped to identify four of these unknown predators, so let's do it again!
"John Doe" Warrant Issued:
A tipster reported the video to a detective in Florida, and investigators were able to obtain a "John Doe" warrant charging this suspect with the distribution of visual depictions, via interstate commerce of a minor engaging in sexual explicit conduct. The FBI wants the public to know that the suspect could be anywhere in the United States, and because they were able to obtain the warrant in Florida doesn't mean the suspect resides there. We still don't know this man's name, but there is a clear picture of the side of his face, a shot of a large scar on the suspect's right arm, and a picture of his left hand with a ring. He could possibly be married. Investigators say because of the length of the video, they think the suspect knows his victim well. For 20 years detectives in Buffalo, NY have been hunting for a predator. They think his name might be "Dave," they know what his blood type is and they even know his genetic make-up. What they don't know is who he is.The man has been dubbed the Bike Path Rapist because many of his attacks have occured on bike paths in Buffalo and surrounding communities. From 1986 to 1994 women in Buffalo lived in fear of this predator. He always attacked women and teenagers walking alone. In an eight year span the Buffalo Bike Path Rapist raped nine women and killed two of them.Linda Yalem, was a sophomore at the Unversity of Buffalo when she was killed on Septmber 29, 1990. Majane Mazur left behind a five year-old daughter when she was killed in 1992. Then after one more attack in 1994, the attacks stopped. Until this year.On September 29- 16 years to the day after he killed Linda Yalem- the Bike Path Rapist struck again. Joan Diver, a stay-at-home mother of four was found murdered alongside a bike path. The Bike Path Rapist-now a serial killer-was back.With each haunting attack, detectives have been able to find out more about this serial rapist and murderer. Now detectives are hoping that AMW viewers can help them solve this case.The AttacksDetectives say that the rapist is very patient and waits for the right time to attack, rather than the right victim. He attacks his victims from behind and strangles them with a rope or a wire. Several times he strangled his victims until they were unconscious and then he dragged them into wooded areas where he raped them. The Bike Path Rapist also uses strips of duct-tape and white medical adhesive to tape his victim's eyes, noses and mouths shut. All ten of the attacks have occurred in the morning between May and October on every day except Sunday.All ten of the attacks have occurred on weekday mornings between May and October. Police: We Know So Much The Bike Path Rapist left DNA at nearly all of the crime scenes so police have been able to find out a lot about him.His blood type is O.He is a white man with Native American ties.Between 1992 and 1994 he lost the ability to produce sperm, either through a vasectomy or a medical condition.Police also know a lot about the the Bike Path Rapist from what victims have been able to tell him. He once said that his name was "Dave" and that he had just gotten out of jail for raping and killing a woman. The suspect has worn different types of clothing in his attacks, including a gray jogging suit, blue jeans, a red t-shirt and a blue flannel shirt- jacket. He has also carried a duffel bag and worn a fanny pack. Two Innocent Souls Destroyed By The Same Man:
In January 2005 a gruesome crime caught the attention of cops in Virginia. Police say between December 1st, 1998 and June 30th, 2002, Christopher Adams repeatedly molested two young girls, whom he knew very well. The crimes allegedly occurred at his home in Colonial Heights, Va. After almost four years of suffering, one of the victims came forward and described the nightmare that she had gone through. An investigation led to a second victim.Adams was finally charged for sexually molesting these two girls, but skipped town before his trial, which was scheduled for March 29, 2005.A "Jack Of All Trades" Police haven't seen Adams since March 2005. The last clue they had was that he was living between the city of Colonial Heights and Dinwiddie County in Virginia. However, he was also spotted working in construction in the Virginia Beach area before his trial.Cops believe it won't be easy to nab him. They say Christopher Adams is a "jack of all trades" and a handyman, and that he may be taking different jobs to make money. They think Adams may have set up his own car repair business. On May 20, 2006, Phyllis and her daughter, Erica spent the day catching up on chores, laundry, and quality time together. Erica had given birth to two beautiful twin girls just six-weeks prior, and life hadn't been the same since. Erica loved her newborn children, but the father of her children, Larry Beasley, often complained that the new responsibilities accompanying fatherhood cut into his free time.At the end of the day, Phyllis dropped Erica off at the apartment in Chicago, Ill. that Erica and Beasley shared together. According to cops, Phyllis noticed Beasley was acting a little strange when Erica arrived, but she wrote it off and started the short trip back to her house. Just a few minutes later, Phyllis says she got a frantic phone call from her daughter -- and that her intuition about Beasley's behavior had been right. Erica screamed that Beasley had a knife and was threatening her. Running to her daughter's aid, Phyllis says she rang the doorbell and was greeted by a menacing looking Beasley. Cops say he led her into the apartment and locked the door behind them.Cops say Beasley attacked Erica while she held one of their babies and began stabbing her repeatedly.Cops say it was when Phyllis asked Beasley what was going on that he became violent, screaming that the birth of his twins had ruined his life. Then, cops say Beasley attacked Erica while she held one of their babies and began stabbing her repeatedly, without regard for their child. Cops say Beasley slashed Erica 13 times, and one of the stabs cut the baby's leg, seriously wounding her. When Phyllis ran for the door to get help, cops say Beasley went after her, too -- stabbing her three times in the back and shoulders. While all three victims lay inside the apartment suffering from their wounds, Beasley fled the apartment and hasn't been seen since.Thankfully, Erica, her baby, and Phyllis recovered from the injuries Beasley allegedly inflicted on them -- but now cops say they live in fear that Beasley will return to finish the job he started.Police say Beasley has a history of violence and a criminal record including a rape conviction from 1989. Cops say Beasley hasn't registered his sex offender status, so he's not only wanted for Attempted First Degree Murder -- he's also wanted for failing to register.
