Wasted Space (Wicked Stitch)

Wicked Stitch's 1997 cd Wasted Space

About Me

In 1996, Wicked Stitch parted ways with vocalist Forest Violette and drummer Chad Burk. Bassist Jason "Durb" Durbin and guitarist Sean VanBlaricom were determined to push the project forward. They hooked up with drummer Silas McQuain and vocalist/guitarist Tyler Freeman, whom Durb had known for years before. Together, they worked on some songs Durb had been writing, as well as writing some new ones as a band. In early 1997, they went in to Beyond Productions and recorded "Wasted Space". It featured 3 of Durb's tunes, "Preconceived", "Easter Sunday", and "Learning To Live With It", 2 tunes written with Silas and Sean, and a spoken word track, penned by Durb, "Other Side Of The Shadow". They started gigging locally, and continued writing new tunes, evolving the Wicked Stitch sound, before disbanding later that year. While the production leaves much to be desired, Durb is still proud of this album, having wrote the majority of the music, as well as all the lyrics.
