About Me

The Gary Ciani Project has come together gradually. We met our lead guitar player, Steve Atchley, in Staten Island, NY at a coffeehouse called The Cup (formerly The Muddy Cup) during an Open Mic night. Steve is a family man, a Capt. in the U.S. Coast Guard, and a very talented musician. Jimmy Ciani, Gary's cousin, decided to join us, even though his style differs from Gary's. Jimmy has played with hard rock bands in the past, but compliments Gary's vocals and Steve's leads beautifully. He sings lead on certain songs. Skip Baker is our bassist. We met him in Bayonne, NJ at The Arts Factory Open Mic night. He's a seasoned, veteran musician and adds a unique sound to Gary's original music. We've had a few drummers come and go (and we appreciate how they performed for us), but we believe Gerard Fernandez is our new, steady drummer. He came highly recommended from another drummer who's been in the recording industry for a number of years. From the first time Gerard rehearsed with us, he had a natural feel for the music, even though he'd never heard Gary's originals before. He's an experienced drummer and we're glad to have him with us.Gary Ciani is a singer/songwriter. He plays guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums. He is currently looking for various other artists and musicians to cover his material in their own renditions.Gary will be premiering his BRAND NEW single off of his upcoming CD, 'They Promised You A Dream'. The song titled, "I DO THIS FOR YOU", is 'a haunting ballad'. Gary is hoping to have a female vocalist remake this song, to present it to the audience from a woman's perspective.Check back for updates on Gary's upcoming gigs.Credit: All songs in the player were performed by The Gary Ciani Project (w/o Jimmy Ciani; w/Jack 'The Hammer' Gourdine on Drums) at the Martini Red Show in Staten Island on 10/13/07.
