Claire began her musical journey in England, when she began studying the cello when she was just two years old. By the age of seven, her love of music grew so strong, that after seeing the movie “The Music Man†Claire was inspired to start learning the trombone, which she has continued ever since.
Upon relocating to the US, Claire has just recently graduated with a double performance Bachelors degree, from the world renowned University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, majoring in both the cello and the trombone.
On the cello, Claire has performed all over England and the United States. Since living in Miami, Claire has had the fortune of sharing the stage with many of the music industry’s leading performers, including Burt Bacharach, Doc Sevrinsen, Monica Mancini, Common, and Kanye West. She took part in a summer of training at the Henry Mancini Institute based in Los Angeles. And since then has participated in an assortment of recording projects, including several independent movie soundtracks as well as appearing as a soloist on a dozen albums from various independent artists and bands.
Playing the trombone, Claire has played with such legends as Gregg Field, Plas Johnson, Jiggs Whigam, Frank Sinatra Jr., Kevin Mahogany, Christian Lindbergh, Wayne Bergeron, and Christian McBride, among many others. Claire has also been a member of many prestigious performing groups such as the University of Miami’s Concert Jazz Band, the Bob Hoose Orchestra, and Miami’s premiere party band, ‘Libido.’
Adept in many styles of music, Claire has been able to cultivate and perform various types of music, from jazz to classical to RnB, funk, rock, and latin, Since 2003, Claire has performed seasonally with the Walt Disney resorts in California and Florida, as a member of the Disneyland All-American Collegiate Band, the Walt Disney World Christmas Brass, and most recently has become a part time member of Walt Disney World‘s Magic Kingdom Main Street Philharmonic.
As Claire continues to broaden her musical horizons, in 2005 Claire was asked to join Kanye West’s “Touch the Sky†tour, on which she performed on the cello.
