About Me

Ed Grissom has been playing trombone and piano for 38 years and stays busy as a freelance musician in the Northeast Texas area. He has a degree in music education from Henderson State University where he studied with Dr. Wesley Branstine. Ed's main interest is jazz and plays in numerous big bands as well as smaller combos.
He has played with the Bill Causey Big Band, Jump Street, the Texarkana Jazz Orchestra, subbed with the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, and has been a back-up musician for Mickey Gilley, Captain and Tenille, Ron Gartner, Sandi Patty, Bobby Vinton, Robert Goulet, The Lennon Sisters, Roger Williams, Lorna Luft, Connie Stevens, Connie Francis, and just about every other washed-up Vegas Entertainer. He plays occasionally with the local jazz group "Twin Towers" and with the "Josh Lawrence Trio".Ed also plays keyboards for "Gary Meggs and Ezekiel 3:18", a Christian jazz group that plays all over the U.S.
Ed has recently been playing bass trombone in the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra which has just concluded its second season. In the past he has been a member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in Little Rock, the South Arkansas Symphony in El Dorado, and the Shreveport, Louisiana Symphony Orchestra.
