About Me
I've been working as a musical arranger since i first arrived in New York in 1979. My first work was arranger-accompanist for a cabaret act "Just Good Friends." From 1981-1998, I was staff arranger for the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, the staff arranger from 1980-1986 for The New Amsterdam Theatre Company series of musicals in concert at Town Hall, which led to my first recording, "Songs of New York," for Book-of-the-Month Club. I have worked on recordings for Angel/EMI, PS Classics, Varese Sarabande, Fynsworth Alley, Elektra-Nonesuch, TER (JAY Records), and Kritzerland, including the following: Unsung Sondheim, Show Boat, Lost In Boston, Girl Crazy, Fine and Dandy, Unsung Musicals, and the recent Jule Styne In Hollywood.I've done pops symphony orchestrations for West End International, Ingenuity Productions, The Three Broadway Tenors, Ron Raines, Liz Callaway, Rob Fisher, Debbie Gravitte, Phillip Chaffin, Carolee Caramello, Gregg Edelman, Rebecca Luker, Judy Kaye, Jeff Harnar, and the Boston Pops television broadcasts with Sarah Jessica Parker and Nathan Lane. I recently finished working on Bruce Kimmel's "The Brain from Planet X," which I scored last December in Los Angeles, for the 2007 NYMF, for whose 2006 season I worked on three productions: The Tragic & Horrible Life of the Singing Nun, The Night of the Hunter, and Little by Little. I've worked for California Music Theatre, New York City Ballet, San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter Theatre, Cohoes Music Hall, the New York State Theatre Institute, and Goodspeed.In 1998, I was the subject of an OPERA NEWS article on restoring "The Boys From Syracuse" for the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization and Encores!, and I have worked on period musical theatre restoration for the Chicago Humanities Festival, City Center Encores!, Roxbury Recordings, the Packard Humanities Institute, and the Library of Congress.
