...one dark night in a pub in hertfordshire, the local boys were beating the shit out of each other for sport...but in a corner by the dj, one brave soul in a shirt and tie took exception to this rule, and chose instead to dance wildly to the beats of "ernie, the fastest milkman in the west", with a grin on his face and his feet a blur...at the bar, a girl with bleached blonde hair sipped a dirty cocktail and sneered at the crowd...when the tune changed to guns and roses and the boy could face dancing no more, he made his way to the bar and demanded some cheap booze...impressed by his shoes and the way in which he ordered alcohol, the girl leaned over and offered him a cigarette..."do you want to start a band?" asked the boy, and the tixieLicks were born... ...the tixieLicks had cheap instruments, cheap dreams and expensive taste, but thanks to a shared respect for a decent haircut and a fancy pair of shoes, the love of a good tune and the desire to do something different, they got through many a false start and moved to the west to start their quest... xxx
